Hindsight is 20/20 but we really missed the boat on Hanifin. He was available last deadline and went for a 1st, mid tier prospect and a 3rd. We could have easily afforded that, let Lindgren walk this offseason and just not done the Smith trade and had plenty of cap room to fit his deal in this year and beyond.

Hanifin - Fox would have solved a lot of problems for this team

Never thought of that. Will be great to see how he plays. More interested in how Kreider looks and if he's actually injured. If he is he shouldn't be playing.

This will be glorified pond hockey. Kreider not opting out after laboring an injury the entire year is wild.

I would rather watch a golf tournament with 50 NHL players. Nobody wants this crap

The fake injury excuse needs to end after the tournament. Yea he was DTD a couple times this season, but the injury was overblown by his fan boys to cover up his garbage hockey.

Maybe Fox will see how it playing with someone that actually plays defense and tells the Rangers to banish Lindgren.

Also, will Ottawa complain about soft tampering with Brady on the same line as JT Miller?

I think CK should have opted out. I understand back issues. I have had my share. Some days you can feel pretty good and some days you have to make sure you roll a certain way out of bed. I understand CK may feel okay to play. I just think the rest and treatment would be better for our Rangers team.

I'm curious why you think it is a fake injury? I had my first back issue as a young kid after trying to juke a guy while playing two hand touch football in the street. I felt like I was stabbed with a knife in my side despite no contact. Today my back feels 100% but I had discomfort last month and would not be shocked to have some more next month.

Nah! You get selected to play for your country you should go. Maybe if this was 10 years ago he would opt out. But at 34 this will be his last chance to play for Team USA. He won't be on the Olympic team unless he has some huge resurgence. I have no problem with this.
 
I mean, Kreider did list his injuries in a newspaper. It's not like people are speculating. I get why people are worried about it and want him to rest.

During covid, I want to say, he said playing for Sweden is one of the most important things to him. It's a big deal for him.

It does seem strange to me as well. The NBA has been doing some weird in season playoff as well. Feels like leagues are just throwing things at a dart board to see what sticks. I also do not know why Russia does not have a team with all their NHL players.
