Weirdly I am excited for this. I hope the players take it seriously. Especially our cowardly players like Kreider, Mika and Fox. If Quinn Hughes doesnt go Fox is going to be heavily relied upon on the PP one would imagine.

JT, Trocheck and Kreider will probably play in a 4th line role but Im ok with that. I always remember the story of how Rick Nash played in a PK shutdown role with Team Canada and it made him a more well rounded.

I expect Mika to look pretty good around the fellow Swede's. He's been our most consistent forward since the new year and this can only be good for his confidence. We are a couple years overdue for a Mika March(to the playoffs). Urho, just happy to be there.

Go team USA, nice to see us so well represented. Drury/Callahan played valuable but minor roles in 2010, and I don't even remember if we sent anyone for team USA in 2014 or 2016.

I care about this about as much as I care about the ASG, which is to say, not at all. I expect the level of play to be better and more intense, though, so my one hope is that no one gets hurt.

i dislike exhibitions like this for the reason that a single injury can ruin a club's chances of being competitive during the league season/playoffs. also i never have liked bettman's cash grabs of outdoor games and crap like this. once again don't these people have enough money? where does it stop?

This is the in season NBA tournament but more self aware. No one cares about the garbage NBA tournament but they made it important, I think this tournament is more appropriately judged.

Zero interest. I'm rooting for #TeamNoInjuries and that Fox can get in shape.

I'd honestly rather watch Arthur Kaliyev doing squats and cardio to keep getting reps in or follow Edstrom in reality style fashion rehabbing his leg injury.

The marketing has been awful. William Nylander looks like a tool in the commercials.

Lots of fans assume this will be terrible, and players won't play hard. Could be. But these players could've opted out if they wanted to, or taken the extra time to heal an injury they want fully healed for the return of the regular season. It's only a handful of games, and these are some of the best players in the world. If they play like they care at all, if they've got any pride, it could be fun to watch. I'll watch, and if it is that bad, I'll stop watching. There's been no NHL players in the winter olympics since 2014, this isn't the same, but it's a potentially interesting international competition and those rarely happen.

This is kind of where I'm at except for the fact that Russia is not represented and you're leaving out a lot of talent because of it. I realize it's more complicated but it just seems wrong to not have Russia involved.
