Who cares that he was "horrendous" in an all star tournament playing with players that he never played with before, playing a role he has never before. The amount of hand wringing over something completely irrelevant to the Rangers is mind boggling.

You might hurt yourself twisting so much to spin this into something unimportant. So now, the excuse is that he played with someone he never played with before. I'm not singling Fox out, I did say earlier that all the Tri State players were mediocre and @Daves a mess thought mediocre was being too nice. Yeah, I was trying to hem my words because of the butt hurt around here. But I agree that Fox won't have to oppose 5 elite players on the ice in an NHL game and won't have to do it again until the Olympics.

Save yourself some misery and take a daily pill to prevent it from flaring up . My Dad had it bad and he was skinny as a rake and not much of a drinker....some of us just cannot escape it . It is so painful in that big toe....you feel like cutting it right off . Good luck . Anyways....the daily pill works for me .
I have not had it in some years. I had it twice in the previous 10 years or so. Once bad. Once mild. Was no fun. I found cherry pills helped a bit. Glad the pill works for you. What pill?

I remember just last night distinctly Miller was in the neutral zone waiting for Fox to make an outlet pass to him and his body language was "c'mon c'mon". And then late in the game, both of them were on the wall and Miller had the puck in the zone and shoveled the puck to the blue line and Fox couldn't get there in time to keep the puck in the zone.
That was one of them. It sure looked like JT was expecting a quicker out.

Another was right before Canada tied it up.

Fox threw a pass right into his skates or short off the wall when JT was in the neutral zone. Lead right to the rush when Bennett scored.

On another occasion Fox threw it over to Miller at the blueline and i think it just went out of the zone and he jumped over onto the bench shaking his head.

Yeah, I recall some people were blaming Miller for that turnover on the neutral zone wall. Even if that pass didn't connect, that's usually a nothing play. That's a play that happens multiple times a game. But when everyone on the ice is an elite player, that gets turned around on you pretty fast.

That's not a spin. He played in an irrelevant tournament. It has ZERO correlation to the NHL. Unless you think Brady Tkachuk is the best player in the world.

A dress rehearsal preseason game is way more relevant than this tournament.

Of course there is a correlation. But it's not everything. The tournament exacerbated Fox's most visible disadvantages. Fox is still a good player in regular NHL games. He's not a top-echelon player. Maybe that's what's sticking in your craw. You won't find a single instance of me saying he should be traded if your search my posts.

No, Brady Tkachuk is not the best player in the world. He had a good tournament. Fox didn't have a good tournament. But is Fox going to suddenly be a great skater and play at an elite pace? That's something that's just not going to change about the player.

I'm not going to change your mind, so I'll just leave with you this

Jonny Brodzinski could've played RD better than Fox in this tournament.

What's eating at my craw is the absolute nonsense to say that this tournament that has nothing to do with NHL games somehow translates to NHL games. Once again, you admit that Brady Tkachuk is not the best player in the world and yet if you extrapolate from this tournament he is. And maybe Brodzinski would be a better defenseman in this tournament but basically that's you admitting what I said is 100% true. Brodzinski is shitty borderline NHLer. All this proves is that this tournament is completely irrelevant to the NHL. I like your posts typically and think you bring some well needed levity to this board. But drawing conclusions based on this tournament is about the dumbest, most illogical thing I've read on this board since I've joined. I'd rather read the Igor apologists complaining nonstop about how terrible this team is explaining that his goals against have nothing to do with how much he sucks and is all on the team.

In my heart of hearts I know that if Igor and Russia were in this thing and he gets his ass handed to him you would be shouting it out from the rooftops about his vast overpayment and what a fraud he is and anything else other than this is just a silly tournament and it doesn't matter. The only thing I've been extrapolating is from a raw skills perspective -- Fox's lack of speed. YOU were the one who suggested that I think Brady Tkachuk is the world's best player. You pulled that one out of thin air. I never suggested such a thing.

Guys, I missed last nights game watching and discussion here due to I went to the Knicks vs Bulls. Great game it was and also the Knicks City Dancers, ooh baby that was an unexpected surprise. Game went to o.t. and Knicks won! Sorry about loss of USA to Canada in hockey, wish I could have watched this hockey game as well but the Knicks City Dancers beckoned me with their svelte dance moves.

It was game 7 against the Lightning in 2015,

McDonagh literally had a broken foot and couldn't stand up straight, and naturally the Rangers were just like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ like Team USA was with Matt Tkachuk tonight.

But AV had this great idea. He would scratch a forward and have Matt Hunwick on the bench in case McDonagh couldn't go, which he absolutely couldn't, but he did anyway, and Hunwick played 0:00.

So AV played 11 forwards and 5 able-bodied defensemen in a game 7. And I'm not allowed to criticize coaches because I never coached.
Actually McDonough had an injection to deaden the pain and the doctor hit a nerve. It happens.
