I'll ask the same question in reverse: how is any national anthem "political"? It's a song of a country that is played when Olympic Medals are won.

People want to bastardize a neutral event (the song) and make whatever idiotic political statement that suits them because of "feelings"

Remember in 2007 when we played Ottawa and the Pittsburgh crowd boo'd the Canadian anthem? Well the best player on our team was <checks notes> Canadian.

I mean if people want to show their ignorance and their asses, have at it. But don't justify bad behavior because of your own political preferences.

And if you truly want to get cast stones, the Canadian PM wore blackface back in the day. But we don't talk about that bc Canadians are so polite or something something...
If booing ______ is considered political, then ______ is also political.

1. Bad behavior? Sports fans booing? Call the police!

2. I could not care less about Trudeau either way. The fact that you thought this would be an own to me, a person who lives in Pennsylvania, is hilarious.

1. There's a significant difference in terms of booing/fan behavior. Razzing an opponent - that's sports 101 and expected. Booing a national anthem or cheering when your opponent is injured or hurling racist/sexist insults? That's classless.

2. I think you misinterpreted my reply. Not trying to burn you or anything like that. It wasn't necessary directed at you per se, just pointing out the hypocrisy of how people should feel towards politicians. Like take a look in your own backyard before throwing stones.
