It's a very short tournament, any half decent goalie can get hot for a few games.

Plus, we know how Sullivan led teams are when the opposition goalie is supposedly inferior. ;)

Team USA has a big advantage due to goaltending imo. Canada's obscene wealth of skaters is, well, obscene.

Probably gonna come down to whichever group gels the quickest, and whether USA's goaltending really is the advantage people are making it out to be.

Wonder if Sid was moved to the wing because Mac would rather play C, or if it's because his wrist is f***ed up. Makes more sense to have Sid take draws, given their respective win%
Probably the arm issue. Looked like wrist or elbow, so makes sense re: faceoffs.

It'll be interesting to see how often Sid tries to shoot during the tourney.

f***, Sid said he'd like Coldplay to play the Super Bowl. wtf

lol no way... I was just complaining about this further up but in regards to Larkin having the same answer.

It is both shocking to me that anyone still listens to Coldplay and utterly unsurprising that the ones that do are professional hockey players.

Ok, instead of making a joke about Sid and Coldplay and ruffling some thin-skinned feathers, I'll post this instead.
The QMJHL on Tuesday announced that it's Rookie of the Year trophy, which previously did not have its own official name, will now be known as the Sidney Crosby Trophy. Crosby won the award himself in 2003-04 with the Rimouski Oceanic, a season in which he recorded 135 points in 59 games.

I mean for the record listen to whatever you want.

But also you could do much, much, much better with very little effort. In Coldplay's case by doing something like... say... hanging out next to a screaming baby, a busy airport or perhaps a nice bog or city dump to take in the dulcet tones.

Did you expect Sid to be into obscure shoegaze bands?
No, but I didn’t expect him to betray us like this

It’s all jokes man. My feathers are all in place

This reminds of that tournament when it became cool to shit on Canada, (famous Madden’s statement: Canada defense lack sideway speed) …I can’t even believe that there is a reality in which the team that has Crosby, McJesus, MacKinnon is considered second or third, hack I’ll take Hagel in the short tourney over 90 percent US roster

You must not follow the league then. I'm not sure how it's even a question.

They have the 2nd best forward group. Easily the best defensive group. And easily the best goaltenders.
Sweden says hi, they have the best defense, especially with Hughes out. USA has the best "regular season" goalies by far, but Helly has been garbage in high pressure games. Be interesting how he plays going into this. None of the goalies are going in particularly strong for any team. Right now its Canadas tournament to lose.

Yeah I don't see how it's even a question if only because of how vastly vastly vastly superior team USA's goaltending is compared to Canada's.

Losing Quinn Hughes does hurt the d significantly though.

But I mean we're all Penguins fans here. Surely we of all people know the value of good goaltending with the absolute trash we've been running there since Murray and Fleury left the team

Hellebuyck needs to prove hes a big game goalie before you can state "vastly vastly vastly superior team USA's goaltending." 2 out of 3 of Canadas goalies are Stanley Cup winners. Last 2 years Helly has been sub .890 save percentage in the playoffs. The Avs completely lit him up last post season.
