Ukraine is also a member of the IIHF and there is no way that the IIHF should allow an aggressor of a war on another member to participate in tournaments. I don't think there is any "political" spin on it beyond that fact that makes excluding Russia from these events the correct decision.

If Sweden launched an attack on Finland, I'd also want Sweden banned from international hockey events.
 
It's a very short tournament, any half decent goalie can get hot for a few games.

Plus, we know how Sullivan led teams are when the opposition goalie is supposedly inferior. ;)

US spent 2003-2020 invading, bombing and occupying other countries yet for some reason we didn’t hold that against the players.

In the Cold War the USSR was doing all sorts of bad stuff yet nobody thought “wow, let’s show them by refusing to compete with them and punish Kharlamov and Tretiak for what the communist government is doing.”

If you think Russian players are responsible then let’s protest Penguin games til Malkin is deported.

Team USA has a big advantage due to goaltending imo. Canada's obscene wealth of skaters is, well, obscene.

Probably gonna come down to whichever group gels the quickest, and whether USA's goaltending really is the advantage people are making it out to be.

Ukraine will never have hockey representation at these events. Nobody needs to worry about things being too tense or sore since they will never ever be in these tournaments.

The US didn't invade another IIHF member from 2003-2020. Russia did. It's really that simple.

That was clearly something completely different. I'd really like your explanation occupying Iraq, Afghanistan had to do with retaliations to an attack on the US?

What the hell are you trying to say? What players were they going to keep out from those nations?

I do hold a bit of distain toward Geno for his love of a pure shit dictator.

I changed my name due to that crap.

There's a complete difference being the aggressor and being the victim.

Probably the arm issue. Looked like wrist or elbow, so makes sense re: faceoffs.

It'll be interesting to see how often Sid tries to shoot during the tourney.

Sure punish people who have nothing to do with their country’s political or military decisions. Cut them off from the rest of society for something they had no control over. That will surely get them to agree with you. Totally doesn’t allow their leaders more control over them.

logic is so flawed. the US should be banned for invading Iraq by the same thinking. IIHF shouldn’t get to deem which wars are just or not.
