Series Talk: Four Nations Face-Off Tournament

Since the NHL doesn't like how long it takes to shut down the league mid-season for a tournament, they should probaly hold the tournament in a town nobody wants to go to and see if that helps speed things up.

Let's have Minny and Winny host the next one, okay? Also, consider holding the tournament as the first games to be held coming off of the Christmas break. That way it can be done and over well before the trade-deadline (in case an player gets injured during the tournament teams would have a chance to get a replacement before the deadline.)

Pretty sure the timing to coincide with the week after the Super Bowl is no coincidence. Although whether that will actually help drive US viewership is another question entirely...

Edit: oh, and World Juniors is already occupying the post Christmas period

What... you actually believe there is such a thing as too much good hockey?

Just curious of everyone's opinion, where do you think the intensity/competitive level for these games lands on the spectrum before it all begins?

If 1 is NHL all stars competition and 10 is the Olympics/cup finals.
8.5 , I would give it higher but I don't think there will be a lot of hitting and grinding in the corners

Lehkonen 22-24 mins a night incoming

Rantanen doesn’t even play with Aho lol
Rants not playing with Aho is kinda BAD sign for Carolina. Just saying.

That's the guy you wanted to play with Rants.

MacKinnon - Looks happy.
Makar - Looks bored.
Toews - Looks...goofy? Sorta like, why am I here wearing this jersey goofy.
Lehkonen - Looks like... Just another day at the office. He's looking at the roster and realizes that team Finland is persaukinen.

I hope I didn't butcher the use of the word my Finnish friends.
MacK is fake happy. He doesn't smile with eyes. It looks like a grin.

Mack needs to play center though
No, he doesn't. He'd be f***ing leathal from RW. Canada releasing lines of him on LW initially though was a choice.

A choice that I think says Team Canada needs a complete overhaul on the management level. They've still got Stone as a RW on this line correct?

As an American, I feel comfortable in saying this: Canada's management is their downfall. Not their players.

So they’re trying out Nate and Sid on the same line. Makes sense if we gonna trade for Crosby, otherwise they’d put Nate with McDavid no?

Amirite?

Not really. Team Canada centers should be McDavid > MacKinnon > Crosby

Nate and Sid have a unique relationship where Nate wouldn't mind playing second fiddle to Sid. I do not for a second believe he would be content to play second fiddle to McDavid. In fact, I feel Nate would be trying to show him up from the wing. Would be fun to watch, but is not in the best interest of Team Canada.

I think Sid would gladly play 2nd fiddle to Nate. I'd bet he'd suggest it
