What I've discovered this tournament. so far ...
1. It created surprisingly good intense hockey
2. Tkachuck brothers are 24/7 idiots ...good hockey playesr but truly dumb and dumber in real life
3. Canada needs to figure out how to develop better goaltenders ...used to be Quebec's foray but we need a national program
4. Charlie M. can play at a star level but needs external big stage motivation...regular season pressure makes him somewhat regular
5. Brad is an excellent leader and spokesperson on any stage including this stage
6. It's no fun cheering against people on this board....it just feels off

There are many more items I could add ..feel free
#3 - Yes. Where have all the goaltenders gone? We got used to having Quebec guys like Roy and the Brodeur. Binnington's been good overall, but has let in some questionable ones. Is he really the best goalie option for Canada? What are they feeding them in Finland?

#6 - Agreed 100%.

It would be a great thing for Bruins fans though to expose him more.

Canada needs to avoid overtime and putting faith in USA hands .
just thinking out loud, wondering if the GM`s who put this team together thought like myself, and a few others did , that this mini tournament wouldn`t have the intensity of typical international competitions and they constructed the lineup with a focus almost solely on players with skill and less on those players who are very comfortable playing a consistently physical game such as Wilson?

I think Wilson is alot like Bennett, reckless and plays on and over the edge but I can guarantee you one thing, no way Matthew Tkachuk drops the mitts if Wilson is lined up next to him, Brady perhaps but not Matthew

Still one of my favorite Tkachuk moments , he`s a spot picker, will go with guys not known for dropping the mitts, Brady less so, have more respect for him

If Pens fire him Id say he’s in the conversation.
sure but wasn`t Sullivan treated like garbage by the Bruins on his way out the door?

I seem to recall he was but my memory is crap :)

I dunno, I feel like I want and am ready for a total new blood behind the bench, not one of those NHL coaching recycling jobs. Maybe someone from the AHL or is there a NCAA coach that would be willing to leave their often comfortable jobs there for a shot at the NHL?

It was a long time ago and he had a mutiny on his hands between factions of the Thornton Bruins vs. the Bergeron Bruins. It was a bad time.

ah, right, thx Wally, all I recalled were things were really ugly then. Some of our younger fans were barely walking and weren`t witness to that era of Bruins hockey. I think for some of us who have been fans a long time remember vividly what that time was like and are pretty grateful the last decade and a half or so of Bruins hockey has been pretty damn good

Not perfect but damn good

Interesting to see how team USA approaches their tilt with nothing on the line meanwhile TC fighting for their lives and while the Finns thin on the back end, they are the pain in the ass kind of team that always seems to find a way to stick around in big games, wouldn`t put TC in the finals yet, not with their putrid goaltending

Someone within the TC decision maker team needs to look at what other countries are doing to develop goalies and do the same, it`s gone from a position of luxury having many top 10 in the world goaltenders to zippo
I have no faith in Binnington, and wouldn't be surprised if he shit the bed today...(although I really hope not)
He's been just an average goalie the last few years IMO, and should not be Canada's #1 option.
I still can't believe the Bruins lost 4 games to this guy in 2019 ...Rask could've and should've outplayed him...but didn't

I'd put Hill in net going forward if they want a chance at winning this thing ...but Cooper thinks he's the smartest guy in the room, and he's going all in with Binnington ...good luck Jon!

..and yes, Canada needs to improve the way they are developing goaltenders.
Hockey Canada should hire goalie Bob

Goalie Bob could help but it starts younger than this. I just finished listening to Dom and Chris Nosek on the What`s Bruin pod, for those who haven`t seen/watched it, do yourself a favor and do so and Dom spoke to the development program teams from Europe have for goalies and he and Chris nailed it, of the 3 goalies currently on the TC Roster, would any of them be in your top 12 in the NHL? Not a bloody chance

Hell, my personal feeling is USA Hockey has a far stronger approach to developing young players that Canada does

NESN should be running a special of Unobstructed Views with Rask and Bergeron for the Canada Finland game lol

Yea you could be right about thought on intensity, because I was thinking what a made up tourney and now glued to the TV myself.I agree with you about M .Tkachuk would not drop gloves with Wilson too.He is definitely a spot picker as we saw fighting Pasta.I gained respect for Miller fighting Paryako.
