Did anyone really expect Larkin to get 1st line minutes? There was some talk that he might not even make this team.

Damn, Finland was very poor. Those guys missing from defence will just hurt too much. Every pair is worse with one missing guy.

Also too many offensive lines were out of balance. Horrible games from Aho, Hintz, Rantanen. Middle6 does not work.

On positive side, Mikael Granlund seems always be the best on National team and also Määttä really raised his level and played one of the best games on his career.

Yeah, it's really like that for Finland. Some people did expect that Finland can play instantly great team-work. But the reality with best Finnish NHL guys isn't really that. They have very rarely been together on international tournaments on later age. And the team-game really comes from chemistries and systems together.

I'd much more prefer World Cup at September, with practise games, and replacing the NHL pre-season games. This timetable is just too short and so it will be at Olympics.

"Silver generation" O.Jokinen, Ruutu, J.Jokinen, Lehtonen. "New Breed" Granlund, Barkov, Määttä, Vatanen, Rask. And "euro mix", basically rest of the team. Everything work out well.

Game system is being driven in as we speak and there is the Olympics itself, Q-Final is the place where everything needs to click.
