Our boy front and center

I don’t know if it’s because he plays for the Red Wings and our team has been the dumps for a number of years lately but it feels like he’s always going to not get the credit he deserves from the league

Raymond too probably

Honestly, rather boring game aside from the first half of the first period. USA was more creative. Canada is a big disappointment. Each player tried to do everything on their own. You can do that against Hall but it won't work against Slavin.

And Dylan is severely underrated by everyone it seems. Eichel and Larkin are the best USA centers.

One of the best sport events in a decade. Historic game, will be referenced for 50 years. 4 Nations is just an insane success already.

Btw:
Larkin is the best forward on Team USA. Raymond best forward on Team Sweden.
I thought Larks had a disappointing game one so it was nice to see him bounce back in a massive way. He was excellent last night. While with Sweden I agree, I think it is hard to ignore as a USA fan how good Eichel, Guentzel, and Brady Tkachuk have been through two games as better players on the balance of the tournament. Also will highlight that I didn’t think Matthews played this level of defense.

I think much like the World Juniors I now expect the coin flip chance in these games as a USA fan no matter where it is played.

If Canada beats Finland in OT, then U.S> turns around and loses in regulation to Sweden resulting in a U.S.-Sweden final......I can't imagine the meltdown.

Think the not getting much game time, so you don't really get into the game hurts and also playing RW.

If they use him at wing it should be LW, but you can tell he is just more effective at center.

I like the Miller-Larkin-Boldy line, I think if Connor hadn’t disappointed through the first two I wouldn’t have broke them up and put him up with Eichel and Brady. My guess is that is a line they are penciling in for Italy. I do think Larkin has stamped himself on that team because of how versatile he is and how hard he competes.

Unless something miraculous/catastrophic happens, most people won't be referencing this event in 10 years, let alone 50. There will hopefully have been two best on best olympic tournaments in the next decade where players are truly playing for their country and a gold medal.

Matthew and Brady will be living rent free in Canada psyche for a long time. I am all for it.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to watch those knuckleheads trolling some other team for a change. I just think it wasn't a very smart move to start the game taking themselves off the ice. And in full disclosure I generally think staged fights are stupid, unless they're about someone stepping up for a questionable play in a prior game.

And gee, whoever would've guessed Binnington would be Team Canada's achilles heel? lol

I thought it was a tone setter to be honest. I also think the you sit for five minutes matters less when you look at the rosters than this typical argument of removing a star in game. While not totally ideal you could argue taking a Dman out for five minutes is more damaging in terms of Canada. The USA just rolled three lines for five minutes while everyone was fresh. They did lose the better players in the exchanges but again I think that actually speaks to the talent levels.

Only Trocheck and Nelson are really Hagel and Bennett exchanges. I think every dman the US iced last night is better than Parayko. So who do you exchange? Set the tone the building noise and moment is something we are embracing. Again this is what you heard from the US teammates postgame and in game, so I don’t really agree with people trying to make it a total non-factor. It seemed to mean something to the room.

The game was epic and historic not just for the high quality of playoff-style hockey, but for reasons beyond hockey. The stuff we can't talk about beyond allusions to "cultural factors" or "what's in the news." The defensive execution and effort by Team USA was outstanding, no lack of physical commitment at any time. This is what some fans thought wouldn't happen because the tournament is "meaningless". It's anything but. There was a predictable lack of familiarity at times among teammates, but the quality of play was great.

The Tkachuk brothers live rent-free in every other team's head, no reason for it to be any different at this level. Brady especially was and has been really good. Miller was not thinking about the benefits of a trade-off, he was just riding the same "let's be a dick" wave started by the Tkachuks. That's okay. Making games personal makes them more intense and entertaining. What won the game was the defensive commitment and the obvious edge in goal. Canada-USA games at all levels have been a toss-up for a while and willl continue for a long, long time. Either team will come out on the losing end if they are missing half their best D group, or ten seconds of play when a give-away happens at the same time a young D tries to make a long shift change, or there's a goaltending disparity.

As for the "cultural factors", they will continue to have an effect and unfortunately many Canadians are having to make choices they never imagined they would have to make. My daughter's cross-border business trips are now under review for multiple reasons, including personal safety. I won't contribute further to a U.S. -owned company until this unfortunate period in bilateral relations comes to an end. Go Wings.

As a Canadian Wings fan, I was happy for Larkin.

Also, as a Canadian Wings fan, hopefully see you boys in the final.

Also side not, I like how people on this board are being respectful about the win over Canada, unlike many people on other social media platforms. You guys are enjoying your win in a respectful way, which is nice to see.
