We don’t see a lot of fighting in the NHL anymore so a situation like we saw tonight where there were two fights after the opening face off is likely something most can’t remember seeing before.
Because of that I can’t remember what the exact rule for punishment is supposed to be. I thought the NHL instituted a rule at some point where players were assessed a game misconduct if they were involved in a second fight during the same stoppage. Am I remembering this wrong or did the referees get this wrong and Brady Tkachuk and Sam Bennett should be done for the night?
