Same problem as a lot of non-USA countries where very few recent (say post 2015) high draft picks have excelled or resulted in game breakers. For Sweden it's just Dahlin and the EP40 of christmas past.

Canada has Makar and maybe now Bedard and Celebrini (with Jarvis, Harley and Johnston just below). Guys like Byfield and Laf haven't arrived yet.

USA's list is way too long.
Celebrini, McKenna, DuPont on the way as well but that’s still like 5-7 years from now.

Us prob should be up 2-1 or at least 1-1

Will be interesting to see how they are when playing from behind, especially if this holds through the second

Carlsson and Pettersson were the 2 worst players that period for Sweden

So much for this being a stepping stone

John Hynes is Patrik Allvin's half American brother.

Honestly at this point it looks like Pettersson might Huberdeau us with that 100 point season. What did Florida do? Trade Huberdeau get Tkachuk and win a cup. Lets follow in their footsteps. Trade Petey.

Listen, this is a best-on-best tournament.

Pettersson has to compete for ice time with some other world class centers:

Mika Zibanejad
Leo Carlsson
Joel Eriksson Ek
Elias Lindholm
Gustav Nyquist

It's not realistic to expect him to be better than any of those guys, let alone all of them.

Just look at the way he gave up the puck there on the powerplay.

it's not just an injury, this kid has completely lost his confidence.
