I will never forget his 6 goals in his 6 first NHL games. I think he was the first to do it since Malkin (or someone) at the time.

IIRC we could've kept Reilly Smith over him in the Seguin trade which was a bit of a bummer as I was a big R. Smith fan. Got Spezza for him though so it all worked out.

Chaisson was our Jeremy Lin

Last time Klinger was good was the finals run and during that years regular season he was already bad. 17-18 and 18-19 he was at the height of his play and that is now like 7 years ago.

Crazy that 17-18 was 7 years ago. Boy time flies.

What made him special was his skating. He was nimble and agile even if he wasn't very fast. It seems like when he lost his lateral mobility it first showed up in the defensive end where he no longer could use his skating to get himself into a spot to make a play with his stick.

But he was one of a number of Stars who were sent for hip surgeries in a short span. Makes you wonder if they were either getting bad medical advice or were getting bad strength training programs. This seems like something underreported in those couple of years leading up to the Lites/Gagardi public attacks on Benn and Seguin.

32 years old- not ancient by any means. Could you deploy him on a bottom pair and on PP2? Possibly. Especially if you’re a team that only let 5 D play for the entirety of last spring
