Was bored, so decided to create a thread.

I was thinking back to some of the players from the Brian Burke and Dave Nonis Era.

Was wondering who are some players you think would be good fits for the 2022-2023 TML?

Keep in mind guys like jvr/bozak/komo/Kadri don't really fit what I'm looking for since they played with us in the AM34 era

Also keep caphits in mind. Kessel for example got 6M and then 8M but we'd have to consider how much that works out to under a 82.5M cap

I was looking at the below guys as potential decent fits for our team and they'd be more affordable then the top guys like Kessel, Phaneuf, lupul

Beuchamin
Robin's
Franson

Macarthur
Versteeg

Reimer

Any other names/players that could be positive fits on hypothetically on our current team?

Beuch is a great fit on style ..

Gunnarsson i liked as well.. quiet third pair or support defender for an offensive guy

Always had soft spots for kulemin and moore. Perfect for 4th line

Forgot Gunnarson played for the leafs

He was a very quite player who had a solid first pass and wasn't very involved in offense (which is good as we don't need a 3rd pairing D jumping up aggrwively and getting burned)

He was so silently solid in the blues run.. cheered for them against boston and he was playing in a way you felt safer when he was on the ice - you knew he was going to get the puck out

Carl Gunnarsson and Ian White would both improve our defence.

Gunnarsson was an unexciting but solid defenceman who made up for a lot of Phaneuf's shortcomings.

White was smallish, but good defensively and with an offensive upside better than some of our current crop.

What was the other goon that played with Orr. His eye was nearly shut closed in that picture with Naz, Orr and Grapes.

Anyway, he’d be better than Clifford.

Would he ever be in the play? Fights 10 times a year maybe and then drag down the team the other 72 games.

McCabe would be a good fit just for the shot on the PP

Tucker, Corson and Roberts. On a line.
Tucker probably would get a for long playoffs suspension unfortunately

Kadri got 5 games and his plays while dirty weren't as crazy as some of the hits Tucker had.

He was a very unique player, but it's tough to play that style now and not get suspended for it

If he could hone down the crazy hits a notch he'd be an excellent player on any of the top 3 lines

Yes. That dude was useless outside fighting, but he could go.

Then benched them.

Don't feel sorry for me. Feel sorry for these delusional leaf fans who think we can win a playoff round with a lineup of wimps.
Clifford got suspended and Simmonds played another game and played like shit.

I don't love Keefe. I think he's a good coach, not a great coach. Personally I would have jumped at the chance to hire Trotz when the Islanders fired him.

With that said I can't help but laugh when people post things that aren't based in reality. You poor, poor thing.
