Connor Lacouvée, who had some decent turns in nets for Laval a couple of years ago, is playing for Trencin Dukla in Slovakia.

I remember in a interview of joel bouchard about lacouvee. I think the guy was signed like « emergency signature ». We had too much goalie injured. After a win by lacouvee he said something like. « Lacouvee is the kind of guy you invite in a hockey beer league when your original keeper cant be there, and he finnally works wells for us ». Loll. I i knew at this moment, that we havent the futur marty brodeur haha

just saw where Andrei Kostitsyn has left his KHL team, wonder what's up, if he's going to another team or another league or just calling it a day. He was 2nd on his team in points last year so even though he turns 36 in 2 months I would be surprised if he hangs them up. Man do I feel old after trading VHS tapes to watch him play in Russia in 2004.

I remember those days... when we thought Kostitsyn and Perezhogin were going to lead us to the promised land again. So many prospects, so little to show...

Koivu was destined for super stardom until that knee injury against Calgary. He was leading the league with 56 points in 50 games....he was never the same and became a 55-60 point player. Had a couple of 70 point seasons while surrounded by mostly mediocre players. Also don't forget the bout with cancer. He faced some serious adversity for sure.

He had serious injuries to both his knees and wore hefty braces on both knees. I know this because his physiotherapist and mine were the same (Markov too), and we both had the same knee brace, made by the same man. He was an amazing player with all the tools, but those knee injuries and the lack of leadership from head office (sound familiar?) meant he was the only skilled player on the team.

Lets not forget the spear he took to the eye from that puke Justin Williams either.

when i heard Scherbak was coming back to the AHL, i thought it would be the panthers since Churla had to have a big hand in drafting him since he was out western scout at the time. Good luck to him, hope he's matured now that he has a kid and is willing to work harder as the skill is there, great playmaker

hey woah woah ... Brian Savage was always on track for a 50-goal season ... until Halloween

Don't forget the imfamous "Smurf Line" of Koivu, Petrov and the wrong Bure brother. It was like the Flyer's "Legion of Doom" line but just 75% of the size (and arguably skill)

ehhhh that post-Roy trade decade sure had some dark days.... dark days indeed .... :(

Actually not a bad line, they'd do much better today than they did then.

I don't know if it was already mentioned in this thread, but I just found out Folin is in the SHL this year, playing for Vaxjo.

This little item appeared during January but it somehow didn't make it here -- Desharnais may be looking to retire after this season.

Lots of great memes about David Desharnais, will probably be as big a legacy as how Michel Therrien deployed him.

We'll never forget Michel Therrien's penchant for certain diminutive players, like David Desharnais and Francis Bouillon, which led to one of the best loved gifs that this forum produced over the years.

He was suspended 7 games but it was dropped to 3.

I'll move this to the former players thread but thought many might not see if it I just posted it there.

He just joined the Czech league (where Mysak was playing before the wjc's) after being in the KHL.
