I remember in a interview of joel bouchard about lacouvee. I think the guy was signed like « emergency signature ». We had too much goalie injured. After a win by lacouvee he said something like. « Lacouvee is the kind of guy you invite in a hockey beer league when your original keeper cant be there, and he finnally works wells for us ». Loll. I i knew at this moment, that we havent the futur marty brodeur hahaConnor Lacouvée, who had some decent turns in nets for Laval a couple of years ago, is playing for Trencin Dukla in Slovakia.
Did he even come over to one of our camps once? I can't remember if he did or not.well former habs prospects torp turned into a physical player atleast.
just saw where Andrei Kostitsyn has left his KHL team, wonder what's up, if he's going to another team or another league or just calling it a day. He was 2nd on his team in points last year so even though he turns 36 in 2 months I would be surprised if he hangs them up. Man do I feel old after trading VHS tapes to watch him play in Russia in 2004.
Koivu was destined for super stardom until that knee injury against Calgary. He was leading the league with 56 points in 50 games....he was never the same and became a 55-60 point player. Had a couple of 70 point seasons while surrounded by mostly mediocre players. Also don't forget the bout with cancer. He faced some serious adversity for sure.
I remember those days... when we thought Kostitsyn and Perezhogin were going to lead us to the promised land again. So many prospects, so little to show...
hey woah woah ... Brian Savage was always on track for a 50-goal season ... until Halloween
Don't forget the imfamous "Smurf Line" of Koivu, Petrov and the wrong Bure brother. It was like the Flyer's "Legion of Doom" line but just 75% of the size (and arguably skill)
ehhhh that post-Roy trade decade sure had some dark days.... dark days indeed ....
I don't know if it was already mentioned in this thread, but I just found out Folin is in the SHL this year, playing for Vaxjo.
Wouldn't even be a penalty in the NHL.....
