Serg has 12 points in 17 games now (on pace for 58 points). He also plays the 3rd most minutes in the league.

Meanwhile Stamkos has 10 points in 19 games (on pace for 43 points). 8 of his 10 points he been on the powerplay.

Guentzel has has 17 points in 16 games and is +10
Moser is much better than Segachev on defense. Only 6 points with little PP time, but +7

yeah i doubt it. Serg plays 25+ minutes against top lines, 1st penalty kill, and significantly more shift starts in the defensive zone than Moser

Just because you play more minutes against top lines out of desperation doesn't mean you're good. Who else are they going to play? Ian Cole? Olli Mattaa

No team is going anywhere with Sergachev as a #1, there's no doubt Moser is more effective in the role we need here than Sergachev who was killing this team with his contact.

Moser can't be more effective than Sergachev in any role because he's simply worse in every aspect of hockey including defense. The contract is another story.

moser is not better than serge, but he was a nice complimentary piece to come back to us in the trade for geekie, which was a skill position we really needed.

Yeah, no. For one, took him less than 20 games to get better than Sergachev on the right who we've spent 6 years trying get going.

I think he might actually be better. Not flasher, but he seems to be a lot more effective. At least in the ways we need him to be.

I'm not gonna try to argue who is a better player between Moser and Sergachev. All I can say is it took about 20 games to realize how valuable McDonagh was and about 5 games to thank the hockey gods he was back. As for Moser, he is literally doing everything we ever wanted out of Sergachev and we are better off for it.

We didn't need Paul Coffey. We needed someone who didn't brain fart so much you could set your watch to it

Hypothetical question, if you could add another coach this season to the staff would you rather have Lalonde or Marty St. Louis? Both are assumed to be on the hot seat. Lalonde obviously earned his head coaching chance by what he did during our cup years and pairs really well with Coop, while Marty could take over the PP from Halpern. Marty started his nhl coaching career as a special teams consultant for Torts in Columbus. Montreal currently has a 21.4% pp (top 10 in the NHL) while they sit last in wins.

MSL I think is head coach or nothing. Doesn't feel like a guy destined for coaching as much as a guy who took the opportunity. Will probably end up on SN or something if anything.

This and I really don't know how to feel about MSL as an assistant coach. Obviously not much needs to be said about his work ethic and determination as a player but it feels like head coach or bust. Especially as an assistant in Tampa? Too much history to not feel like you'd be "next in line" and that kind of clash will linger as some weird back story when Coopers shelf life comes up.

I don't think he's a fit here as a coach. That's more of a novelty thing in like 10 years if we suck royally, if nothing else.

I mean if the players wanna listen to Boucher howl about defending too much down 2 goals in the 3rd running a 1-3-1 with 11 minutes left then God bless em. I have seen enough to know he will never change. There's a reason he's coaching in the KHL now
