Keep talking about Jeannot but have more points than our 4th line. Cooper destroy some players here, Jeannot was one of the list, that doesn't liberate the GM for the worst trade ever in our history.
Jeannot was already coming down to earth. He had 14 points in 56 games in Nashville before the trade. Jeannot's 21-22 clearly was a huge fluke which he will never even come close to again.

Gourde is going to be cheap at the deadline if he keeps going at this rate.

Wasn't really goal scoring that made him valuable to us. Gourde-Paul-Eyessimont would be fun.

I think that's really under-selling what Gourde brought in the playoffs.
He definitely has another gear in the playoffs.

Is Gourde done or is he having one of them cold streaks he had with us too? The guy puts his body on the line more than half a dozen prostitutes, someone like that can fall off a cliff in an instant.

Stammer is 1-1 at even strength through 15 games

If we removed emotion from the equation, there was always going to be a ton of logic behind letting a PP merchant with an $8M per multi-year contract walk. Especially when he no longer would have Kucherov on the opposite wing.

Thinking of guys we've had to let walk or trade in the last couple seasons...we might've lamented the salary cap restrictions forcing us to let these guys walk, but looking at their track records post-Lightning, there's Coleman's 30 goal season last year, Goodrow and Gourde had good seasons their first year after leaving (which would've been useful for us that year, admittedly) but sure seems we were going to be on a downhill slope regardless. These guys got old and declined too, at least they all made some pretty nice money in the process so good for them.

Naturally we don’t know the truth but I suspect no way Stammer was asking for 8 to stay in Tampa Bay. Apart from that I’m sure there was a ton of logic behind it but I still haven’t forgiven JBB for how it was handled.

We have the best coach in the NHL.

Do those guys get regular PP time?

Stammer has 1G and 1A at even strength through 18 games and is 3rd among Predators forwards at ice time. A total blackhole of offense unless he is ripping that one-timer on the power play.

Seems like Jack Thompson is doing well in San Jose. We didn’t have room for him but I was never a fan of giving him up for a rental.

Serg has 12 points in 17 games now (on pace for 58 points). He also plays the 3rd most minutes in the league.

Meanwhile Stamkos has 10 points in 19 games (on pace for 43 points). 8 of his 10 points have been on the powerplay.
