I will hold off on making any bold statements until I know more details but alot of lives have been forever altered for the worse due to this incident and as a father of two sons and a daughter I feel the pain for all involved. Hopefully the truth prevails and justice is served in a timely fashion so that all involved can move forward and come to terms with the events that unfolded that night so that they can map a pathway to healing.

Old school dinosaurs like this particular chief are part of the problem as they are apologists for perpetrators due to their adherence to the same "values" that embolden and harbour racists, misogynists and bigotry in all of it's vile forms. Exact. But peers pressure + alcool = recipe for catastrophies. Teenage boys and young men are ready to do anything to impress girls and friends. They also want to be part of the pack - part of the team fully. That's what coaches since they started playing the game have repeated to them over and over.

Yeah, it's not an "Accused" type situation, as far as I can tell. Beyond whether it was consensual or not, the fact of having a lone female in a room full of teenage jocks is it's own kind of problem. It shows very bad judgment on the part of players. And the threshold for consent increases exponentially.
