In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server57 years without getting to the Cup Final has to be a record. No?Except those wouldn't be very hard to beat? Just infract every time you go onto the ice.
Those aren't even real records. Real records benefit the team. Being bad isn't a record.
Oops lol sorry, BOB Kudelski.Bud Kudelski???![]()
I would think the poor fans sitting "over the glass" would care a great deal about that. Most pims is like most pucks shit over the glass. No one cares
This is the most unbeatable record in all of professional sports, IMO... hockey for sure. Mostly because of how the position has evolved.
Glenn Hall is 93, still alive and kicking today. Obviously an endurable human. Very nice man... I know his son and granddaughter.
Another record I like to quote when these threads pop up is Bill Mosienko's hattrick in 21 seconds.
Edit: I see @habsfan44 just beat me to the punch with the Mosienko hattrick.![]()
How long do you think a player would last on an NHL roster if their sole purpose was to take a penalty every time they stepped on the ice?Except those wouldn't be very hard to beat? Just infract every time you go onto the ice.

not a norris recordOrrs defensive scoring record 139 points as a D
Brodeurs shutout record 125
Haseks Vezina haul (6) and career #s save pct .922 GAA 2.20
Lidstroms 7 Norris trophies
Gretzky's 50 in 39 and 92 goal in a season
There's some insane records set since just the 70s that in the modern era are deemed untouchable but going further back as people pointed out, there's others that are so insane to think about that it's just not even considerable based on today's game and player management
I thought Sutter's were the highest scoring set of brothers, as in two or more brothers. Gretzky's are the highest scoring pair of brothers.Highest-scoring set of brothers in the NHL are Wayne and Brent Gretzky. Brent contributed 4 points towards this total.
I think a random one that will be very hard to beat is Mike Sillinger playing for 12 different NHL teams.

Everyone always talks about Gretzky's records and they will never be beat(until now) but how about two other records that I can 100% guarantee no one will ever beat?
Tiger Williams 3971 Penalty minutes all-time
Dave Schutz 472 penalty minutes in a single season
Is it safe to say these will never be beat? Is there even a point to talk about it? Perhaps dubious records but these two are a lock to never be beat.

Seems like it would be pretty tough for Bud Kudelski and Jimmy Carson’s shared record of 86 games played in a season to be broken.
Patrick Roy's 151 playoff wins
I don't think 10 points in a single game will be beat, at least not in our lifetimes.
Could happen with advancements in bioengineering and cyborgesque tech, already had stuff like Pistorious legs and that was awhile back, could look very different in 50(let alone 100) years. Like some pill for
just fully recovering from physical exhaustion. Then again one could argue it's barely even humans playing at that point I suppose.
Happy Gilmore took off his skate and tried to stab someone.

Calder throphy kind of sucks imo, same with Selänne, he played 4 years senior hockey before NHL
If the NHL adds an 84 game season I guess it could be broken more easily. Personally I think the NHL should go in the opposite direction and play LESS games, but I guess it's to be determined.Again, no. Very easy for NHL to bump schedule up to 84, and eventually 86+ games in a year. I thought I heard a rumor they might go to 84 next year, or soon? 86 will eventually be matched/fall.
Glenn Hall started and completed 502 consecutive regular-season games.
