Supposedly the head coaching decision is between Flores and Daboll. I'd prefer Daboll because our offense has been abysmal for much too long.

Good hire. Extremely good work ethic
Time will tell. Recent Jets history:

Dump Tannenbaum - Idzik is a great hire.
Idzik is incompetent - Maccagnan is a great hire.
Maccagan is a bum - Joe Douglas is a great hire.
Joe Douglas sucks - __________ is a great hire.

People are making the Daball connection, which make sense.

The guy I'd REALLY keep an eyeball on is the Bills QB Coach, U legend Ken Dorsey. Regardless of who is the HC, I wonder if he's an OC candidate.

Fewest wins over the last decade:

1. Jaguars
2. Browns
3. Jets
4. Giants
5. Lions

It's cool that the Giants have a storied history, but for ten years now they've been absolute garbage along with the Jets. The point was (and I think you know it) that so often front office and coaching moves look great up front but prove to be big failures. I think Schoen is a good hire but only time will tell.

What I take the most comfort in is that it seems like John Mara realized “The Giants” doesn’t work anymore (I’d argue it never really worked, but that a whole other argument). That organization needed a fresh face and direction in the worst way, and it sounds like they got a pretty smart guy to help rebuild the franchise.

The head coach, those first 3 Draft picks, and the decision on Jones are going to be extremely important. If I were Schoen my first goal is to rebuild the trenches. I’m curious to see if they get an OL and the Tyler Linderbaum with those first 2 picks, or take an OL and one of the pass rushers. As long as it’s not a RB I’m good lol.

Giants need four offensive linemen starters. Can they cut the four down to two?
- Can Nick Gates return?
- Can Lemieux play well?

As a Giants fan, most have been spoiled and entitled brats since 2017. How many people here went through the mid 60s-early 80s dark ages?

One Super Bowl a decade the last four decades. Any Rangers fan would sign up for that 25/8/366.

I grew up in the 80s and 90s so it was always LT/Marshall/Simms/etc. a lot of success. I didn't like the Ernie Acorsi era, his teams felt too much like the 80s Rangers to me. But he left them with some nice presents and Reese was able to gift wrap the personnel for a few years.

Gettelman and Judge were terrible. Both are gone.

This is nothing compared to the Giants true dark ages.

One question. How many times did the Giants of the 80s run a QB sneak on a 3rd and 9 from their own 7 yard line?

It was the last game for a crappy regime. Are people as fans still personally embarrassed by it? The league has moved on. The Giants have moved on. It's going to go away quicker than how bad a coach David Quinn was which we still talk about.

I moved on the second the game was over. I really could care less if Stephen A Smith or Aaron Rodgers laughed at it for a few minutes on a national segment.

I'd say the Miracle at the Meadowlands I and II and the 2003 playoff game vs. San Fran (along with Jeremy Shockey's entire tenure as a Giant) were more embarrassing.

Personally embarrassed? Why would I be personally embarrassed by it? But was it embarrassing? Yeah it was. I have moved on because they fired the Coach that called an absolutely moronic play. Spare me the “it was the last game” of the season argument because that play call was a reflection of a slew of bad coaching throughout the season.

I certainly don’t care what Aaron Rodgers and Stephen A Smith had to say, although it was way more than just those two commenting on that. It was funny if anything. But YOU are the one coming in chest out all high and mighty calling the Giants fan base “spoiled and entitled brats”. That a super bowl won a decade ago should pacify us “spoiled” fans and we should be more accepting and understanding for what has gone on the last 5 years. And that you lived through the “dark ages” in the 80s, a period of time that was 30-40 years ago, these past 5 years are not that bad. These past 5 years has been a circus act top to bottom. How bad they were in the 80s really doesnt have any relevance, but lets say it did; ok that was the worst and these past 5 years have been the “2nd” worst. At the end of the day its still shit and its still unacceptable.

Not going to apologize for having high expectations and holding the team I am a fan of to a high standard. Doesnt make me spoiled or entitled, it makes me a sports fan.

I'm not singling YOU out. You are entitled to your own opinion. Gettelman was terrible. We all saw it from the beginning of year two. Judge should have been read the riot act and put on notice when he had the public fight and fired the OLine coach like six games into his first season.

I don't care how many analysts make fun of the QB Sneak. It's over and in this day and age with how everyone moves on so quick, no one will remember it. It ultimately got Tisch angry enough to be very active in dumping Judge and the hiring process of Schoen so mission accomplished.

I didn't live through a bad time. By the time I was old enough to realize what was going on, LT/Banks/Pepper Johnson/Simms and I'll even throw in Lionel Manual/Stacey Robinson were all established. Simms even lost his job and was benched for a few years so I hope fans remember that when looking at Kaako and Laf. Even in 1986 that was all the Oline and Joe Morris until about like week 10-11 of that season.

The real dark ages for the Giants were from the mid 60s-early 80s. I wasn't around for 99% of that. This era is nothing compared to that unless Schoen flames out. Then we can start talking.

And yes, I am saying for anyone who is a Rangers fan AND a Giants fan to chill. Reese's drafting was horrible and Gettleman was even worse. But look, the Rangers have 1/10 the luck of the Giants historically they have at least 2-3 more Cups. I think everyone here signs up for it.

I love the Giants and in a lot of ways they have been my Rangers remedy but let's be real, Scott Norwood makes a kick, David Tyree's helmet isn't Krazy Glue, and Rob Gronkowski doesn't play on one ankle and this team is in the same boat as the Rangers or Mets with SB 21 being their 94 or 86.

Also what everyone fails to remember is a little pain sometimes leads to smart decisions. I'd rather the Giants suck and become SB contenders from the ground as opposed to being stuck in Ernie Acorsi Era when they were sometimes good but not great.

The Matt Dodge thing led the Giants to get Steve Weatherford who was great the post season for SB 46. This dumb QB sneak and "Hog Mollies" era has now led to the Schoen Show.

I just hate the NY attitude you have to be win every year or it's a failure. There's progression. We as fans have this collective attitude must win a Championship every year or else it's death when historically there's only been one team in the entire history of the region to get that done, the Yankees, and they have been stuck in neutral for a very long time AND even have two bad periods (the CBS years and late 80s-1992).

Giants fan complain their team stinks but it never addressed the GM not drafting OLine men. Rangers fans complain about lack of centers and Strome but all that complaining is therapy until Drury and Lilles actually draft centers.

I’d be surprised if Schoen puts any eggs in those baskets. I think we must see a full turnover of the starting offensive line outside Thomas.

I assume you weren't complaining in 2004 because the Rangers won a cup in 94? Give me a break. This was a far worse dark ages than that Rangers team that was never bottom of the barrel bad. A decade of worst in the league football is not something Giants fans should take lightly just because they were good a decade ago.

It's like LA is doing everything they can to lose but Tampa doesn't want to win, either. Not what you'd expect from LA or from Brady.
