Do you know how little those championships mean to me in 2025? Even when they won those championships they were not a dominant team and kind of fluked their way there quite frankly. Not counting the prehistoric ones from when I was a baby. But even if you don't hold that against them, 2012 might as well be a lifetime ago. It really does nothing for me. It's a tie breaker in terms of comparing ourselves to the Jets. That's f***ing it. We're still a bottom 5 franchise. Would I rather be a Lions fan in 2025 or a Giants fan? I'll let you figure that one out.

The first season I was watching the Rangers was 2000-2001 only 7 years removed from Cup. It was only the 4th consecutive season they missed the playoffs, so not fun but not Buffalo Sabres or Edmonton Oilers territory yet. Definitely not New York Giants territory either. The fans HATED the team. You think fans hate the vets and complain about young kids not getting their chance now, it's not even really close to that 00-01 team.
