OT: Football thread (2024 season)

I watched it yesterday morning. Was thoroughly entertained, but holy shit Gastineau is one strange dude. That man has some deep rooted issues. Sadly, I didn't realize Abdul Salaam passed away 2 months ago.

That '81 season was probably the first full season of football I watched from start to finish for both the Jets & Giants. It was crazy that the two teams made the playoffs after REALLY long droughts, 12 years for the Jets, 18 or the Giants.

I came away thinking similar things as you. I remember all the news surrounding Mark back then. As a Giants fan I rooted against Mark. No Internet back then but still were rumors that Marty and Joe didn't like Mark. I didn't realize what a great guy Marty was. Im glad I watched it. Nice to hear the inside stuff from the players themselves. Back then many Jets like Freeman McNeil lived in Dix Hills (Long Island).
