Rodgers is old, coming off a major injury, and seems to be increasingly spending time and energy on non-football endeavors.

I remember the training camp of the year before Rick Nash retired, him saying how much harder he had to work each year as he aged to maintain his level of play. It was a nothing interview, and I don't know why it still sticks in my mind, but it's something I think about when older players start to drop off.

So interesting thought do his failures as a Jet hurt Rodgers's legacy or will it be seen in context of him being old?

I think if his career were more on the margins between good and great or “hall of very good” etc it might.

But Rodgers resume and accolades are enormous so combined with an Achilles injury and age I don’t think it’s going to damage it too much.

This jets failure is the crown jewel in the criticisms thrown at him these past few years though in that he’s one of the most insufferable and annoying people on the planet lmao.

He seems like one of those guys who has an IQ of 110 (above average) but thinks he has an IQ of 160 (genius). The Kyrie Irving of the NFL.

I’m ngl, I def think the last ~5 years have soiled the cult of Rodgers that used to exist.

His last 3 years in GB his average per game was 247 yards, 2.7 TD and 0.4 INT - he also won 2 NFL MVPs.

I never liked him because of the Ryan Braun incident but he was always a great player - until he came to play for the goat crushers. I think even Brady would have sucked on the jets.

Dude just needed to keep the crazy under wraps and keep cashing those sponsorship checks. He couldn't do that. Doesn't change the fact that he had a HoF career. One of the most effortlessly accurate deep passers I've ever seen.

he’s a narcissistic attention whore. now that he sucks everyone is like “wait maybe he was always overrated”. which is fair to argue given his lack of playoff success and numerous chokes. his physical talent is arguably the greatest but his lack of rings will keep him out of the greatest ever convo.

Agreed. In GB everyday he said something negative about the franchise in the media including blaming everyone else for losing. He never takes accountability for himself. He bragged ayahuasca made him a better lover. 🙄 Did it make him think more clearly in his NFL career? He did not show up for voluntary OTAs before his first Jets season even though he didn't know the WRs and they were all either young or in new roles. Even Shailene Woodley said everything has to be his way every time all the time. He's such a brat and loser.

I saw somewhere yesterday that they're now thinking of benching him ....and (GET THIS) that Woody wanted him benched as far back as September. Personally, I find the latter hard to believe.

Yeah I can't imagine any plane of existence where Woody Johnson would order anyone to bench Rodgers. It might hurt his chances at his upcoming UK ambassadorship.

eli is one of the most fascinating HOF cases in any sport

just looking at his overall numbers and career its easy to say no but that 07 run carries him hard here, and its tough to say he DOESNT deserve a spot.

Agreed. I know he was a .500 QB in the regular season, but he beat Brady and Belichick in the SB twice.

There are only 6 players who have multiple superbowl MVPs: Eli, Brady, Mahomes, Montana, Bradshaw and Starr. Assuming Mahomes and Brady are 1st ballot HoFers I don't see Eli being odd man out here, whether deserved or not.

The super cynic in me wonders if NFL Corp and its big media arm wants to annoy its Manning Family Cash Cow.

Rodgers also admitted he lied about being vaxxed. What if the child of a GB employee had died? He's so selfish and self-centered.
