Over what? They've been losing like this for what seems like aeons.....As my mother used to say, common sense would tell a crazy person that bringing in a 40 year old QB well past his prime and putting him behind a patchwork (at best) o-line (that's been the bane of our existence for who knows how many years) is a disaster waiting to happen. We saw that in game 1 last season. You then let that same "past his primer" to pick his own OC, decide which players HE wants to play with, (indirectly) has the head coach fired.....the litany of sins/mistakes probably goes on and on. Maybe things are different in the NFL, but to my knowledge there is no quick fix to the Superbowl.

The fact remains that they were never anywhere near being a contender (I don't care how bad the division is) and "going for it" at this stage was sheer fantasy.

(FYI -- I'm the opposite of you.....I get the warm and fuzzies every time the Midgets lose.)

Unfortunately, he's under contract for next season -- and if Woody has any say in the matter, he'll be back and it'll be more of the same.

Yikes!!!!!

Well many fans and talking heads thought the Jets were just a QB away the last 2 seasons. Then when they got Rodgers people thought now is the time. Rodgers is not prime Rodgers but this is not all on him. He has played well in spurts but also has seemed to choke at some pivotal times this season. The line continues to be a problem at times and the defense had no business letting Indy score so many points.
Funny how the Giants losing makes you feel better and the Jets losing makes me feel better lol :D

(Anyone else hate these "nested" replies?????)
I thought his deal was just 2 years. Its 3 years?

I've never understood that reasoning. Jets were NEVER a QB away.

We are polar opposites, my friend. As I may have mentioned, I'm also a Vikes fan, so the Giants stumbling brings me double pleasure.

Broncos fan here and Denver was in the same spot pretty much as the Jets last year (old qb/team struggling). They have to draft a qb. Whether Rodgers is here or not next year.

Well they had the defense. That is hard to argue against. They have a top 10 WR. They have a solid RB. I agree with you though that it was never just a QB away because I find the Oline to be as important as any other aspect of a team.

I have no faith in their drafting.....nothing will change under this "regime" -- it'll be more of the same....

The defense is what has kept them afloat for some time. The o-line, however, has been an unmitigated disaster. They can't control the line of scrimmage which means they can't establish a running game. With no running game, they can have 2 or 3 top 10 WRs - won't do them any good because they'd be blanketed play after play.

Since my Giants may not win the Superbowl this season I'm going to root for Buffalo as my AFC team. I have always liked Josh Allen. Would be cool to see them win without a couple of guys. ☺️

I always thought he was the sleeper of that QB draft....was hoping Jets would go off the grid and pick him. I think he would have fared better than Darnold

He plays like an old school anything goes gunslinger at times. Seems like a cool guy off the field as well. May not always be the most disciplined or best passer but seems like the kind of guy that would be a fun teammate and a top 5 guy at worse. Just made a great play.
