I want what I want
Well, I don't know what the stats are but I know that the Jets D has battled injuries and nose dived this year. In previous seasons, maybe this version of Aaron Rodgers would have been enough to have them in contention for the playoffs. And once again THIS version of Aaron Rodgers, who is no more than average. We all expected him to be much better. THIS version of the Giants with a decent QB even would have at least a couple more wins. And yeah, the Jets are a bad example of this but what about the Commanders?
Yeah, I'm by no means saying that the Giants can't turn it around (next season) with the right moves. The margins are so slim in the NFL that yeah, who knows what their record would be with a competent QB. A couple more wins and they are in the dreaded middle. A couple more things go right and yep you are the Commanders. I'd say the Commanders are a good example of hitting on the QB being so important. That's why Schoen HAS to get it right this time. But obviously there are other holes to sure up after this season which he cannot neglect.

On the Jets. They made the risky move of handing the keys to an aging mercurial QB who was coming off a bad season (which they probably thought the wrist injury played a big part). From one aspect you can say it was a risk worth taking. Where they really dropped the ball was with an aging QB, not having a backup plan that didn't include a worse QB than DJ taking the helm and then doubling down on the Rodgers experiment when it wasn't working. Compound that with line issues, regression, the Reddick debacle, injuries which are just out of their control, and you just have the Jets Jetsing.

Also shows you why the meatheads from Staten Island (no offense to anyone from Staten Island) who were all "you're not a real fan if you root against your team to win games" last year need to get f***ed.

The Jets defense isn't what it once was and Aaron Rodgers is not nearly the QB he once was. You know what other team people were saying was lacking talent? A team that finished below the Jets and Giants in the standings last year and a team that's been a mess longer than the Jets and Giants. The Commanders.
That's true. I'm not saying a good QB won't fix the Giants, but it's no guarantee either. That was my point. Sure, if they draft the next Jayden Daniels (which hey, they could), then I'm sure they'll figure it out.

Like it would make a difference even if they picked #1

They “missed out” on Lawrence and he stinks
When parcells had the jets 1997 #1oa pick he managed to talk Peyton Manning into grad school, traded down twice from 2 different hall of fame tackles and wound up taking a lb he played out of position for 4 years.

Jets have an awful record when it comes to top middle and bottom draft picks.

Are you kidding me? Jets fans have to be heart broken. The way they lose games that they have a chance of winning is insane especially with their talent. This was a team people thought would be top 5 in the AFC. I feel bad for Jets fans but the Jets losing has always made me feel better :D

I am still confident they will finish top 5 in the AFC east.

I do not think too many people are feeling bad for Rodgers. I think Sauce has run his mouth a couple of times as well. Question is do the Jets bring back Rodgers next season? Some people said getting Rodgers was better than getting Favre but the results were definitely in Favre's favor. Brett went 9-7 for the Jets.

Rumor is the Jets are looking to trade for Zach Wilson. :D

We haven’t felt anything since 2010 so.
I understand. I feel like this season is worse than losing with Mike White or Zach Wilson because of Rodgers expectations. I will admit the Jets could have won several of these games. Its like they are just choking them away.

Over what? They've been losing like this for what seems like aeons.....As my mother used to say, common sense would tell a crazy person that bringing in a 40 year old QB well past his prime and putting him behind a patchwork (at best) o-line (that's been the bane of our existence for who knows how many years) is a disaster waiting to happen. We saw that in game 1 last season. You then let that same "past his primer" to pick his own OC, decide which players HE wants to play with, (indirectly) has the head coach fired.....the litany of sins/mistakes probably goes on and on. Maybe things are different in the NFL, but to my knowledge there is no quick fix to the Superbowl.

The fact remains that they were never anywhere near being a contender (I don't care how bad the division is) and "going for it" at this stage was sheer fantasy.

(FYI -- I'm the opposite of you.....I get the warm and fuzzies every time the Midgets lose.)

Question is do the Jets bring back Rodgers next season?
Unfortunately, he's under contract for next season -- and if Woody has any say in the matter, he'll be back and it'll be more of the same.

Yikes!!!!!

(Anyone else hate these "nested" replies?????)
