Not the slightest bit mad. If you had told me that the Panthers, at 3-8-1, would be in a close game against Seattle in the divisional round of the playoffs up until the 4th quarter, I'd be ecstatic.

Just like the Hurricanes; always settle for less.:sarcasm:

I'm mad because they played a very sloppy game and yet it was still close for three quarters. This game was very winnable and it just slowly slipped away.

Tampa is a mess, New Orleans is getting old, Atlanta doesn't have a coach or a defense or a lot of other things. Carolina is very young and only needs a few pieces. I think they should be even better next year.

For a non-football fan, how big was Panthers winpercentage before the game?

They were 7-8-1 in the regular season. Ties are extremely rare in American football, and sub-.500 teams almost never make the playoffs, and their first-round victory was over a team that literally had the worst quarterback of any playoff team in history.

They were huge underdogs in that game. It would have been a shock if they had won.

True, but it was only a winnable game because they played pretty well through 3 quarters. If you eliminate the mistakes that really hurt them -- the bad throws, the blown coverages and missed tackles -- suddenly you have a team that's playing a nearly perfect game in Seattle. And that just wasn't within the capabilities of this team.

Well, I see now that I formulated myself very bad. I meant how big Panthers chance of winning the game, but you answered that too. Thanks!

I understand, but it's still a little frustrating. They definitely had to play perfect, and aside from a few of the things I mentioned, they played pretty well. It's just a shame that the mistakes were kind of big and they made the difference.

The Jaguars will dominate next year.

Also, my crazy off season prediction, is that we go all in on signing Suh. GM David Caldwell said he's gonna spend big this year and he "always gets his guys" and with Marks out with a torn ACL Suh makes a lot of sense.

Draft Williams, pair him with Suh and that line will create enough havoc to help mask our issues on the back end.
