Yes, but the people buying the tickets, whether they are businesses or individuals, are using their revenues or discretionary income which is in Canadian dollars to make these purchases. Converting the current Canadian currency into American currency distorts the average ticket price. Whether the Canadian dollar is .73/US or 1.05/US, Canadians are still paying the same price for the tickets in Canadian dollars. And the fact is, most Canadians are spending a greater portion of their discretionary income on NHL games than Americans.
Stating that people in Edmonton are paying middle-of-the-road prices to attend games is laughable and pretty deceiving. They are paying some of the highest prices in the league.
