All this tells me is that Andersen should be our 3rd stringer come the playoffs.

It tells me that for sure but it tells me two more things:

- Whoever let the terrible powerplay drag on for this long needs to go. And I don't mean Malhotra. Someone needed to step in weeks ago to take control of this situation.

- If Gary Galley calls any of our games during the playoffs well...well I just don't know. I'll be very sad at a minimum.

Don't hate him, he just has been a bad goaltender for a very long time now and some people just can’t accept that. Stats don’t lie. The eyeball test tells everything.
again, i never even gave my opinion on him as a goaltender. im justing speaking about this game specifically.
hes been mediocre for over a calendar year, but when players in front of him arent doing their jobs they need to be called out too, not just andy.

They don't take the time to set up properly, and they need people grinding in front of the net.

We pass the puck behind the goal line on the PP more than any other team in the league.
Funny, if anything I find were too set and don't use the low zone enough. We need to be more active and go high low to open up, but I do think we get overly focused on a single asset and try to execute that instead of understanding the whole purpose which is to open up lanes and areas.

Can't argue with your concern either - there's a lot wrong.

I'm not a fan of how Marner's handled the PP for most of the year, but he does show creativity and promise. Not sure what the top end of Rielly is on the PP, but damn well sure of the bottom end. That's why he takes more blame and then the simply blown SHG by him won't help
Sandin is clearly a more cerebral player but nowhere near the skater that Rielly is. I think they might be better once setup with Sandin but Rielly is more likely to stop the clears and better at gaining the zone. I'm fine trying anything though. They don't make adjustments. Just keep running the same thing that the entire league has figured out how to stop. One thing I do like is Nylander in front of the net. That should be a staple IMO.

What I dont understand is how when Rielly was taken off PP1 it didnt suddenly start lighting it up. In fact it looked nearly the same.

Galley: Perfectly placed shot by Zaitsev.

Didn't look like he got all of it and off a Leaf sweater. Brutal. I've been laughing out loud at how innacurate it's been all game.

Maybe well get Galley and Hughson. ;)
