It's not a trailer.People who live in trailers don’t buy bourgeois blankets.
Because the stakes are different. If you have to minimalize a trade like this to 4th round picks don't matter, what gives you confidence they will get the big moves right?
I thought it at the time, and I think it now. This was a dumb move that wasn't required.
Allthough, if we never see Ginning in the NHL again, that might be a win. I've never seen a defenseman look so badly lost.
So when the stakes are higher they are suddenly going to be reasonable and draw hard lines on things like cap space and the value of future picks?Because the stakes are different.
It's the difference between trading a 4th to have a second Marc Staal as a rental - obviously a dumb move - versus trading a 1st and 2nd for Risto and then extending him for 5 years. Both moves are bad. One is clearly worse, Hence the difference between a D grade for this versus an F- for Chuckles' masterpiece. Could Danny do something just as dumb? Of course. And if he does, he'll get torn to shreds. But until that happens, i don't see a reason to overreact to something like this.
Post the articles which said he had brain issues before the draft. Do it today.Read several articles and posted them here where scouts in the nhl and juniors thought he was damaged. Not really understanding the rest of your tirade but whatever floats your boat.
Well, I cannot say I expected anyone to be watching Buffalo Sabres games on purpose.400+ posts in a thread about a 4th round pick and a guy I didn't even realize was still playing...
No clue what he is talking about, his injuries pre-draft were not head injuriesPost the articles which said he had brain issues before the draft. Do it today.
Same as it ever was. They swapped D-men and got a net positive value in future assets. Saying they didn't stick to the plan because a 4th had to go the other way is just laughable.
We are not last in the league, we are a likely playoffs team and we still were sellers and got a net positive in assets. But you know, you can't go to the playoffs without basic depth. It is sad to have to explain this.
You can disagree with the choice, maybe some guy in the system would have been better, etc etc. I'm not even saying this is a good trade. But it is the decision they made, and it is still coherent with rebuilding despite a low cost to pay. (4th picks are very overrated on hfboards)
they really weren't sellers..they traded one guy that felt he was worth more then they were willing to pay..if Walkers asking price was lower he wouldn't have been movedThey swapped D-men and got a net positive value in future assets. Coming in hot with the verbal memes.Funny, I don't envy a thing about you.
Nailed it.The fringes matter. Lol.
This is why the flyers have no high end talent. Not waiver wires and 4th round picks.
Patrick over Makar.
O’Brien over Miller.
Ratclffe (traded up for) over Robertson.
So when the stakes are higher they are suddenly going to be reasonable and draw hard lines on things like cap space and the value of future picks?
you do realize you're kinda proving the point we keep making..that the management of this team is bad..yet you continue to defend things they do ..not in the same vein as Deady did/does..but you doAllow me to add:
Provorov over Werenski, Meier, Rantanen, Barzal, Connor, Chabot, Eriksson-Ek (whom Hexy said the Flyers rated roughly the same as Vorobyov. LOL.)
Sanheim over Pastrnak
Frost over Robertson (in addition to the Ratcliffe trade-up debacle)
Winning on the margins my ass. The Flyers lost on too many big opportunities.
The weird thing is, most of the posters who bleat about “winning at the margins” & poor management DEFEND Hextall.you do realize you're kinda proving the point we keep making..that the management of this team is bad..yet you continue to defend things they do ..not in the same vein as Deady did/does..but you do
problem is..say they take Makar..since that's the drum that seems to get beat on a lot...and Makar comes here and is handled like they handle all defensemen...and is nothing like he is now in Col...people would be bitching we had a shot at this other guy..or that guy...The weird thing is, most of the posters who bleat about “winning at the margins” & poor management DEFEND Hextall.
These big crushing missed opportunities were under Hextall.
These same people refuse to acknowledge that Hextall drafted his fellow Brandon Wheat King Nolan Patrick against the scouts’ consensus, despite multiple reports.
comeon 97% is basicly less then 3%..3 percent of posts is nothingness. The fact is that you come here determined to whine about other people and you ignore the 97% of discussion that doesn't suit your preferred narrative. So you can focus on the very few comments that confirm what you falsely believe to be true.
How about you try discussing the Flyers instead of the posters? That's what this place is for. It's a sports forum, not an e-gossip club.
for not being dentists we got a pretty good batting ave. huh..We called Stall will be worth nothing. He is worth nothing
We called Carter Hart will be involved in this thing
He is.
We called they dont trade Laughton. They didnt.
We called they will resign Seeler. They did.
We called they will not play the Kids in a "rebuild" they didnt.
We called they would overplay Couts and he will reinjure early. They did, he is most likely injured right now
We called they will play Atkinson over young players. They did
We called that the style of play from torts will wear the team down and it is not sustainable. The whole defense is injured now
And could go on and on. But we are just whiners without reasons! Its really good to see what is happening. When next year all is breaking Down they will say at least we were in the playoffs last year
Point is: Hextall blew too many big opportunities. And they’ve been paying for it. It takes years to recover.problem is..say they take Makar..since that's the drum that seems to get beat on a lot...and Makar comes here and is handled like they handle all defensemen...and is nothing like he is now in Col...people would be bitching we had a shot at this other guy..or that guy...
so yes we have missed out on players..because of bad management and scouting..things that seem to get defended to death..so which is it?
once more ..meet the new boss same as the old boss
can you tell me what direction this organization is actually headed in? do you legit deep down in your plums think this team will seriously..and I mean seriously contend in the next say..3 to 7 years?
Your still missing it though...you are blaming Hextall and solely him when this has been and still in an ongoing issuePoint is: Hextall blew too many big opportunities. And they’ve been paying for it. It takes years to recover.
It seems pretty clear Heiskanen was who the Flyers’ scouts had the most consensus. Can you imagine this team if they had Heiskanen?
Agree Poehling has been better than anyone expected, and would have made sense if Laughton was already gone. You can never have enough RWs, LOL that is funny! The Poehling signing is the finest of the moves, but I still question the point. I strongly doubt the guy will be relevant or possibly even in the league by the time the Flyers should be expecting to be relevant. But, they also need bodies since a certain mistake-free Clarkeboi GM decided to only acquire right wings with the plan of converting them to C/LW/D/G/Development Coach/Gritty if needed.

imagine thinking Heisk. woulda turned out here...I can imagine. The team still wouldn't be good.
