It’s not always about points or goals, which is the biggest misconception on HFBoards. Not trying to sound like a jerk but think it was more of an effort thing and whatnot.

Effort doesnt win games. At the end of the day, the only thing that matters is that your goal total is higher than the others team.

The reason this team sucks is because they lack talent. Not effort. Effort only takes you so far.

Sports is a results oriented business. If you cant produce in any capacity [which Howden cant] you are not effective. But the message is sent to other players.

it just leaves a bad taste in the mouth when some guys seem to get a pass on poor play and production just because they're dumping the puck at the right moment or something. Just like there's more to the game than points, there's also more to it than the little details. If you can do the little details but can't produce at all then what you are at best is a 4th liner.

Dunno what his metrics are, he has been better playing a straight forward game and finding a spot in the lineup where he's not expected to be a top six goal scorer. I'm kind of ambivalent about him staying or going at this point
