? This makes zero sense from a Flyers perspective. Simmonds is way more productive with way more tools on a slightly cheaper (although 1 year less) contract.

Nashville adds a first (at least) for value but why would Philly even consider that? Add this and next years first and you might have them listening. Yes that is overpayment but that should be the only reason that they would be interested in trading the far superior player.

I would love for Philly to deal Simmonds because he is a pain in the ass to play. Would love him in Pittsburgh. Question ... why would they trade him for Smith? Simmonds is worth a lot more than that.

No it isn't.

Simmonds can be a 60 point pain in the ass. Forsberg has a 63 and 64 point season.

Meanwhile, Smith had 37 points this year in 82 games.

Simmonds for Forsberg could be debated depending on team needs, etc... Smith for Simmonds is just awful. Hell...Simmonds even has a lower cap hit than Smith.

I would agree if we were talking about LA Wayne Simmonds. But this is Philadelphia Wayne Simmonds, who has seasons of 60, 50, and 60 points for his last three years. Forsberg's still a better player, but the difference isn't nearly as dramatic. Not by a long shot.
