That's what I'm going to say if I ever have a life threatening surgery in the future. The league is slowly losing the dinosaur approach to coaching.
Torts seems like a guy who has hit that stage in his life where he likes the idea of coaching but doesn't like the actual job of coaching.
I suspect he's just frustrated with coaching a rebuilding team. I think that Torts has shown in the past that he is a very good coach with a team that is ready to push to be its best, but coaching a team that is looking to develop its young talent isn't his strongest suit. Philly was always a strange fit for him that way. Hopefully the Flyers hire someone who is more adept at player development than Torts is.I guess those comments he made last game didn't sit well.
If your coach is not fully committed, he shouldn't be coaching,
I think he just hates coaching a team that doesn't have the pieces to push for the playoffs. It must be hard to coach a bad team, knowing that regardless of what he does, he doesn't have the players to get there. Especially for a competitive guy like Torts.Torts seems like a guy who has hit that stage in his life where he likes the idea of coaching but doesn't like the actual job of coaching.
Time to play Pelletier on a higher line, give Michkov more ice, recall Grebenkin, keep TK away from grinders.
10 game experience will be valuable.
Don't bet on it in Philly. They will probably hire Therrien.
I can't believe he's only coached 5 teams. I swear it seems like double that honestly.
after his failed tenure in Philly...IMO he will not get a head coach offer any longer. I do think he may get an associate coach offer though...Torts flops again. When will people realize this guy isn’t a good modern coach?

"Get out you old dinosaur with 30 years of experience, I need the new guy to perform this surgery!"
