The New York Islanders, after much internal debate over several players they have ranked very closely as nice gambles here in the fifth round, have decided to use the 139th overall pick on David Kvasnicka, defenseman, HC Plzen (Czech).

With the 142nd pick in the 2017 Fake NHL Entry Draft, the Hurricanes select, from the Prince Albert Raiders, left winger Simon Stransky.

"Blah blah, hockey words, yada yada, analysis," fake Hurricanes GM Dave Poulin said. "I'm trying to beat a boss in Path of Exile, write what you want about the pick. I hate everything! It's too hard! PM-ing the next guy!"

The San Jose Sharks, are proud to make pretend to select with the 143rd pick (assuming no trades occur irl), if this person is still on the board, an international player currently in the USHL whom has committed to playing hockey next year for the NCAA Boston Terriers, your, mine, everyone's appropriately ranked for this portion of the draft, and hopefully a steal in years to come, Finnish Defenseman, shooting left handed, 6'2", 198 lbs., not a friendly ghost, 18 year old Kasper Kotkansalo!

... and by shortly, I mean two hours later.

:rangers

The New York Rangers are pleased to select from the North Bay Battalion of the OHL, defenceman Adam Thilander. The Rangers organization is pleased to get an offensively minded defenseman that is also European. We feel that his 35 points and -32 plus/minus are representative of the organization we're trying to build moving forward.

I like those Sabres picks. Now get some late round sleeper forwards. :)

Yeah, I have been trying to get some forwards for them but there are always such good defenders out there! I wanted to take Samberg and/or Lukkonen in the second and I picked Tyszka because I had just read something about him that day and as soon as I picked him I was thinking I'd hopefully be able to get either Samberg or Lukkonen with pick 68. Then at the Oilers picks I didn't even realize Samberg was still on the board or I would have picked him there.

Yeah, Colorado was tough for me. The gap between the first pick in the 2nd and the fourth all of the Dmen on my list were gobbled up. CO fans may not like my draft (especially going after Liljegren where I did).

4. Liljegren (D)
32. Oettinger (G)
94. Manukyan (expecting a Johnny Hockey/Theo Fluery here although I drafted him VERY early) (F)
113. Alexeev (F)
125. Inamoto (D)

And probably going with another F next...
