I had three kids in short succession, so I know something about the topic. This idea that someone, in particular in their 20s or 30s walks around like a zombie during the day after having a kid is a bit overstated. Call me sexist, but more often than not mom is the one waking up multiple times per night if she is breastfeeding. In addition, as money is not an issue in this case, they may have an overnight doula or nurse that helps with feedings. This guy is a professional athlete. His conditioning, nutrition, etc. is off the charts, especially compared to the rest of us. My guess is that it doesn't affect his play at all, and if anything it may improve it because he is riding an incredible high right now.

The only caveat, of course, is if there is ever a problem with a baby right after birth. Anyone who has been in that situation knows that the rest of your life - job, responsibilities, whatever - rightfully becomes a complete afterthought.
I had 3 boys in 5 years.

I worked nights to stay home with them during the day so the Mrs could go back to work.

It seemed like a long 7-8 years, and I was young enough to have the energy so I 100% agree that it shouldn't be an issue.

You said months not days, hence my eye roll.
I actually think he will get an adrenaline rush here short term.
My recollection is that the fatigue takes some time to sink in - it's the cumulative effect of interrupted sleep rather than the immediate effect. In any case, those first few days are like nature's strongest drug.

Pretty much everyone thinks we will lose the series. Let's get er done boyz.

I had 2 boys in 15 minutes! (well, my wife did). I took Wednesdays off for a couple on months to ease the load and did most of the nighttime getting up.

Wouldn't have missed it for the world!

Guaranteed tonight he'll be somewhere between zombie and Mighty Mouse.
