In hockey you're more likely to get a misconduct for bad-mouthing a ref than if you actually genuinely target a player with a slash, elbow, shoulder to head, whatever. These guys have paper thin, inflated egos considering their position in the sport

It was a reputation call on Ott pure and simple. Thornton deserved to be ejected too, he was pursuing Emelin the whole game. 3rd period is gonna be a mess if the refs let this go
