To be fair, it’s nothing to do with them being checked out. It’s just their identity. October, April. Doesn’t matter when. They just think things are going to be easy for them and when it’s not they don’t know what to do.

Not to shit on Korpisalo because he already did that on himself tonight but Sens had a PP and puck control and he skated to the bench like a guy who just smoked an indica blunt and had his lunch stolen. Sometimes just showing energy means something, holding your head up, shoulders back. I hated seeing him so dejected and feeling sorry for himself, it’s a kinda minor thing for such a crappy team but speaks to his defeatist mentality and his contribution to the culture

I don't think effort level was an issue early in the season, they were just playing a style that was all about cheating for offense.
