Blackwood traded, I see maybe Blackwood++ for Gibson

'If' Gibson is traded there won't be another goalie involved*. With Stolarz being an acceptable goalie for a rebuilding team & Dostal coming along nicely (would make a good backup to give him exposure to the NHL speed without tossing him in the deep end), the Ducks have no reason for Blackwood.

*maybe a very minor piece as an AHL level replacement if, if the Ducks don't have someone ready to step up there

This makes me howl with laughter.

It's way less than I offered for Blackwood and was roasted as a "typical Oiler fan, not willing to pay for a goalie" from @Devsguy24

For the record I think it's a reasonable offer, though I think the Oilers would beat that by upgrading the prospect to B+.

I'm not Poppy Whoa Sonnet. I don't know if you think all Devil fans share a brain, but we actually don't

Of course I don't... I just thought it was funny that you are bandying about "homer" type of criticism and then a brethren of yours puts forward a nearly identical valuation for a nearly identical goalie.

All in good fun.

It's almost as if a team trading their 1 decent goalie might value a player more than a team that has 2 decent goalies.

I don't think you understand, without Blackwood the Devils have nothing in net.. not a thing
Washington would be able to trade Samsonov and still have Vanecek

Also another thing to consider is a Devils 2nd round pick is not the same as an Oiler 2nd round pick

you dont want any of these guys as your #1 really... unless Gibson has been playing intentionally mediocre the last few seasons or Campbell's mid season meltdown was actually him playing through an injury.
Fleury is good, but, he's not your full time #1 anymore either. ...and this is the best of that lot

"Nearly identical" as in: Oilers 2nd + B+ prospect is "nearly identical" to Devils 2nd + C prospect

And the valuation Poppy Whoa Sonnet came up with was derived from a Devils point of view, meaning the team lacking goaltending was making the valuation pitch...

Anyway, you aren't having any fun with this, so I'll stop needling you. Smile a little... your aggressive stance in the Blackwood thread is coming through again.

Man, I just can't stop it. I'm honestly not this serious at all.
I think it's maybe because I'm older and use punctuation. LOL

I'd take the chance on Blackwood, he had a strong first 2 seasons and he's only 25, I think if he is put on a good team, which NJ is not he can get it back and if he does get it back your goaltending is set for the next 15 years.

I'd also be interested in Gibson I think you put Gibson on the Leafs, with the way they score I think they'd be a tough out
