I would've done Hoglander & a pick for Farabee. I think he's got real potential as a top 6 FWD, and still only 24.

Getting him & Frost for that seems great for the Flames. Pelletier isn't bad but was on waivers & hasn't really established himself. How do they move that package of younger players & not atleast prioritize a 1st?
Catered to Torts.
Worries about making friends with GMs.

Torts on Kuz after like 10 minutes.

He has 6 points in his last 8 games. He's definitely been taking off since being brought back up. GM's were sleeping when he was on waivers

They could have picked kuzmenko up for a 3rd, or probably less, and gotten a much better return for Farabee and Frost.

Pelletier was also on waivers just a few months ago.

The 2nd is the most valuable asset leaving the Flames for two middle six forwards.

Slightly underwhelming from when the news started trickling out at first. Cool that Flames are going for it a bit, and the Flyers will have plenty of cap to work with beginning in the offseason. Wonder what the picks involved are. Pelletier is a nice piece, Kuzmenko will be interesting. Frost is a really good buy-low candidate, you could feel it coming. Farabee being that young with a solid track record doesn't make 5 mil seem so bad, especially with the cap going up.
The good thing for the flames is that this is a move for the present and future. They could do a full 5 year rebuild and Frost/Farabee would still be in their primes.

pretty big risk for the flames taking on farabee but the flyers will have a lot of cap maybe to take a run at Marner or Rantanen.

Not a bad contract at all. So it’s not a risk.

Rants will stay in Carolina or go back to Colorado.

Mariner stays in Toronto.

Paying a winger isn’t the answer for Philly.

Just based on my fantasy league’s scoring system, this is two NHL players for two fringe NHL players.

Thanks Flyers!

Let’s go to playoffs, come on.

I agree he's a talented player. But is his value really super high after a hot streak? I feel like his potential is basically Farabee, and he's only a year younger while Farabee is an established top 9 forward still with upside.

I don't mind the Pelletier pickup, but I feel like Farabee is pretty undervalued in this trade. Taking on Kuzmenko (who won't work with Torts) and only a 2nd for him & Frost... idk.

40 plus year fan, Flyers are worse off than they have ever been. Congrats Flames , get in line for teams to take advantage of these clowns.

Briere is Torts puppet and things are going to get so much worse.

2 legit younger fwds for a cap dump , waiver fodder and 2 shit picks is repulsive.
