GDT: Flames @ Fish Sticks, March 22, 2:00 PM MT (8:00 PM for Joescores)

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Damn, crazy finish. I thought we were finished with that late Isles goal, but what an awesome response. Never quit!
Large 2 points!

Absurd heart shown after the loss in TO.
Great to get the results with it.

Kadri was alone there too. Frost was absolutely bagged coming off the ice. If the shot misses, it rings around the boards and they have a 3 on 1 the other way w Ras back but probably at 20% gastank.

Game of zee inches they say. Haha.
I think the replacement forward for Frost would have gotten on the ice in time to make it a 3-on-2... but it's all moot

Huberdeau surpassed last year's point total this game in 12 fewer games. Also tied his point total in 2022-23.

Might actually get near 70 points if he's a PPG the rest of the way.

Even better though is he now has as many goals as the combined previous 2 years lmao.
Time for some people to fill this out:

A stat so unbelievable you can’t even make it up, Flames forwards point totals the last 2 months:

Huberdeau •23 points in 24 games
Kadri •23 in 24
Coronato • 13 in 24
Rango • 10 in 23
Pospisil •10 in 24
Coleman •7 in 24
Frost •6 in 19
Farabee • 5 in 18
Backlund •5 in 19
Zary •4 in 12
Lomberg •4 in 24
Rooney • 3 in 21

Kadri and Huberdeau deserve so much more love. Only forwards other than their linemate who has produced above a 40 point pace, and they’re playing at roughly a point per game level.

Edit: Another shoutout, but Coronato played 11 too many games last year to be classified as a rookie this year. Comparing him against the rookie class, he would’ve just moved to second in goals per game, behind only Celebrini. Also would be 4th in points behind Hutson, Celebrini, and Michkov. Ahead of names like Gauthier, Stankoven, and Bourque. Still sticking to my guns that he has 35+ goal potential.

How in the hell does Pospisil have more points than half our top 6 lmao.

I absolutely love hockey first though. And can’t deny great players doing great things
Fair enough, I'd like to think I'm the same way, it's why I followed Nucks last year, and it being my dad's team

Couldn't this year cause not enough time to follow 3 teams. Even if I did though not sure how I would have felt considering both teams are competing for the wildcard, and I was watching the flames first so..

…because of out of all of our players in our top 9, Huberdeau has the highest on ice shooting percentage at 8.24% over that stretch. 250 forward across the league have higher rates than that. Pospisil has the next highest at 7.55 which is why he is ‘racking up the points’. 304 forwards in the NHL have a higher rates than that during that span.

This year will go down as a crazy anomaly, and for the exact opposite reason most think.

Wow 250. And Huberdeau has a career high, arguably unsustainable shooting% too.. speaks to this teams anemic offense.
