So is Sven, when he doesn't have the puck he flys in and throws his weight around at the D. Pissed Seabrook off against Chicago because he was so persistent with his physical play. Byron also lacks the skills with hands as Sven does not.

it will come for Sven, just need to let him play out the slump.

Byron is more physical than Sven is what I was saying.

Great idea to let a guy play out of a slump in the press box. He'll really figure it out there.

He plays bigger than Sven does. Not knocking Sven but Byron is physical.

At that height/weight, how physical can he really be?

The only positive with sitting Sven is there isn't 20 pages of Backlund defenders vs haters.

At least when Sven sits, the majority hate it and the discussion shifts to how best develop him and what he does/does not bring to the table.

I'm very curious to see what Byron brings. Maybe they are showcasing him so they can package him with butler for a top 4 shut down DMan, a 2nd and a cap dump.

Not a chance Baertschi is scratched tonight IMO. With all the injuries and how well he is playing of late, I would literally snap if he was. I think Hartley is a good coach, but if Sven was scratched tonight I would become a Hartley hater almost immediately.

This is just extreme sheltering by Hartley. Since we are going up against such a high caliber team tonight with quite a few big bodies in it, I think it would be wise if Hartley would play byron in place of sven. We dont need any more players out of the lineup with injuries, and if they do it might as well be to a non essential player like byron

LOL you make it sound like the Kings are a team full of goons. If Sven can't handle himself against bigger NHL teams, he shouldn't be in the NHL.

Mostly just hoping we don't get shutout, at least that hasn't happened yet. Need a better start, we might not be able to keep up physically, but at the very least we should be able to match their speed. 3-2 somebody

Well we MAY win if whoever Scrivens back up is in net and Carter, Richards, Kopitar, Brown, Doughty are all healthy scratches and replaced with water bottles....

What? Sven is the furthest thing from physical. He might not be soft, but calling him physical is such an enormous exaggeration

That's right, just complain about everything without knowing the facts.

Byron is a pretty physical player, he is a pitbull out there. Also unlike Sven he can kill penalties.

Friedman tweeting that Sven is in fact out.

****. Fire Hartley.
You act like Baertschi is a difference maker. Guess what, he might be in 4-5 years, but right now he is as much a liability as an asset. No harm in giving a grittier player a chance against a team that is much grittier than us.

I don't see the point in sitting the same player all the time when there are a host of other players on our roster that have been just as poor, if not worse, than Baertschi.

David Jones has been bad, for instance. Yet he's out there every night. I also have to believe the only reason Galiardi isn't playing is because he's injured, otherwise he'd be getting his fair chunk of ice to do nothing with.

Don't worry. Hartley, who's managed to obtain the worst record of any Flames coach in their entire history, knows what he's doing. He can't make a mistake, it's impossible. After all, he was hired by a professional General Manager and they can't make mistakes either. Because they're professionals.
