Great game, whole team looked like they were on the same page. Ramo was really solid positionally, should definitely get the next couple starts. Love Cammy, Backlund had a great 2-3 period, Brodie really took on the added responsibility well too

Absolutely. Most of the team had decent to good game actually.

Anyone else notice Butler? Amazing skating and positional play in this one.

I thought Colborne had a bad game after his first two shifts were strong. David Jones wasn't great. SOB and Smith weren't fantastic.

Is it just me, or do Backlund's strong games always seem to come in highly-charged, emotional contests. Makes me hope we keep him until the playoffs.

Personally I thought Colborne looked great and I thought David Jones looked pretty good. I actually liked SOB's penalty because he was at least being physical, but Smith I didn't notice much at all. Butler also looked all right, not great by any means, but definitely stepped up to the task of playing in the top four. I wonder what the coaching staff said to this team going into this game.

Wasn't his best, but he was 11 - 3 in the FO circle tonight!

Confidence is a big thing Backlund it seems.

Also, as I mentioned earlier, Reinhard barely played. Just 2 minutes and 36 seconds of ice time, with one shift in the second and nothing in the third. I'd think it was an injury but McGrattan played just 2:33 as well.

Brodie with almost 30 minutes of ice time. :amazed:

No Gio, Wideman, Smid, GlenX, Monahan, Baertschi.... but this team still battles and finds a way to beat a strong LA team on home ice! Proud of this team!

No Galiardi either, who I think is actually a pretty underrated defensive player for this team. People seem to tag onto the poor plays he makes rather than look at how good he generally is defensively.

Shouldn't be surpising he can do it. He logged high minutes for most of last season and he was flying on the ice. What a great player.

#tybg for fourth-round draft picks, apparently. I still want to see him contribute more offensively but right now he has got to be one of the best young stay-at-home defensemen in the NHL. Just stunning that he can stand up to top opposition like this at the age of 23.

I know but considering how good LA is in the west I still think it's shocking for him to carry such a workload in this game.

Brodie is not a stay-at-home defenseman. Brodie is a Puckmoving - defenseman. Smid is what you classify as a stay-at-home defenseman.

Cammy channelling some old school Iggy on that last shift! Fantastic to get a win especially against Sutter. Brodie and Ramo were our best players overall. Backlund and Cammy played strong to.

Anyone else smell playoffs, huh, huh?

I wouldn't call Brodie a puck-moving defenseman, I've never seen those qualities from him. Always his defensive ability has outpaced his offensive/first pass ability.

Is this a joke? Brodie is a offensive minded player. Not putting up points doesn't mean his offensive ability is lacking. He is decent defensively, but not good enough to be called a stay-at-home defenseman.
