would not be against a canadian league myself.Crazy how even Leafs fans are upset at Brady, I guess Canadians as a whole are getting sick of American players bailing out of Canada.

Why exactly did Brady want out?
he's the epitome of being an anti-leader. got scurredCouldn’t handle the pressure of being captain in a Canadian city and probably always wanted to play with his brother
Basically never on a team that has Sanderson.Agree he was leaking oil a bit this season and was mostly flat and his legs seemed dead most nights, how many games did you watch last year where Brady was our best player (or even a top 3 player) Not many.
Even a lateral move like Lafrenière helps with speed and I think will improve us. Just do the 9th overall for Lafrenière and keep the playoff plane flying
nothing to do with the 51 state comments, obviously folks were booing the players. From Florida, eh?Didn't the US players get booed during the national anthem at the 4 nations? Now Canadian fans are upset the same players aren't showing canada teams respect? Yeah you are getting what you deserve and its hilarious!!
Distant third, yes. Not one of the pillars anymore. And yes, he'll do well in anonymity in Florida.I think he was pretty solidly Ottawa's 3rd best player, with Batherson kind of nipping at his heels.
It definitely leaves a hole. The fact that he missed a good chunk of the season and had a poor playoff is going to be what a lot of people remember due to recency bias.
With Florida's top 9, he will have a lot of opportunities to reset after a season to forget.

Because it’s obvious he’s not staying past 2028. I don’t think the value is bad granted we do move the picks for some help. Why even do this as Ottawa? The 2029 pick is almost a guarantee to be in the mid 20s when you are sending them another top line caliber player...

Best to wait and see what we do with the picks before prognosticating about a rebuild buddyI cannot believe the Sens couldn't get an impactful roster player from Florida, Carolina, Minnesota nor Vegas.
They are stuck in perpetual rebuild mode.
Drury has been very vocal about not trading Shesterkin.Maybe the NYR said no.
Because Brady wanted out and wasn't gonna sign. People told Sens fans this for a while now this was gonna happen. A lot of them just didn't want to believe it.Why even do this as Ottawa? He was Captain for 5 seasons so your first reason is wrong.Couldn’t handle the pressure of being captain in a Canadian city and probably always wanted to play with his brother
He also said the sens are well ahed of the habs in their rebuild.
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say acquire a LW.

Many Ranger fans have been very vocal about trading Shesterkin.
There's a very good chance that if the conversation even happened, you are 100% correct.
That's on him though, not the team. The team will be more than fine, assuming the GM does his job. You want to quit on the team? You're part of the problem.A bunch of Sens fans did, now they get to watch their captain quit on them for picks and a 1st round sweep.
Agreed. Although I will give Brady and his brother credit for having the decency to let their former clubs know well in advance that they had no intention of re-signing and allowing the GMs to recoup maximum assets. It's really getting pathetic how many players are requesting trades and then listing some combination of Florida, Vegas, Carolina and Tampa as the locations they'd accept trades to. Maybe it's always been like this and I just forgot but I can't recall stars throwing their hands up and then specifically requesting to be moved to Colorado, Detroit or New Jersey in the late 90s.
