The no income tax stuff means nothing for this type of stuff unless you have a sustained winner. Florida now has that. Teams like Nashville and Seattle still overpay for UFAs despite no income tax because they are not as good.

Getting 8 years beginning next season is Ages 30-37. If he has a big year, maybe someone offers that but the back half of the contract you figure is going to hurt making it likely that he probably wasn't going to get a better value for that amount of time.
