not sure why Florida didn't ask for one of Commeso or Gajan from Chicago in return to be honest. I don't think Blackhawks made out like bandits like some on our message board, but I think you will come to hate Seth Jones like much of our fanbase. Our PP system is much more dependent on the forwards on the side wall or down low, than a point guy directing traffic, SJ should be on the receiving end of the one timers not trying to set them up per se.

Haha I know Balls wasn’t spectacular but he’s also a 6th defenseman so of course he’s the weakest link. I didn’t feel he was that bad, not for a 6th defenseman anyway.

Yeah I get what you’re saying. I think a lot of it is that he tries to do too much by himself. Like he’ll try to reverse and get pinched off by the forechecker instead of using his passing options.

I think he does have some pros. He can skate, has agility, a little physical.

I am not sold on Bedard being generational..just saying what caused the locker room issues and selfish tag in Chicago is looking off him and other young players to only turn it over caused a lot of issues..I hope he tears it up with Florida. I just don’t understand when fans come on and just say nothing but negative things about the player they trade us lol. Jones is at best our 6th best player. He's going to get in line and be fine lol.

Zito spoke with Lebrun for The Athletic, here are a couple of takeaways:

- Billy obviously know Jones very well, but he said the biggest drivers of this move was his pro-scouting staff who convinced everyone on staff that this was a great move.

- Bill also mentioned how being a simple cog in our Panthers-machine would help Seth elevate his game, instead of being the main engine on an atrocious team.

- That move wasn’t happening if it wasn’t for the big retention. Billy also praised how this is a five-year plus type of move !

- Zito also had a word for Spencer, saying he believes in him as a player and a great human-being, believes Knight will be great for Chicago.

- Billy said he would look into improving our team until Friday, but did mention he would be « prudent » in his approach… Mentioned the cake was baked and done, now he may be looking into the frosting on top of it. lol

- Lebrun said he would expect a forward being the next target. Zito also mentions that he could be looking into adding a 3rd goalie.

- Discussions are still talking place with our free agents, Benny and Ekky, believes they can fit them both and Billy wants them both back.

Zito always says that pretty much for every pending UFA but it just depends on how far apart they are on the contract value. I think Benny will be back at ~7mil per and Ekky goes to the market and signs some bizarre 10milx7 deal.

Do you have an inside source with the hawks or are you just speculating that Jones was a locker room issue? Because I haven't seen anything that says he was a problem in the locker room aside from fans saying he seemed aloof in interviews, which means nothing. Sounds like butthurt Chicago fans making something out of nothing.
