Looks like a difficult thing for the bruins to get Trouba. Fowler may be a better target and trading partner. Carlo is fitting is very well in the mean time. Bruins drafted some good Dee talent the last few yrs, contrary to what the Canadian media thinks.

Carlo has been a huge surprise to me so far. I think he has a very bright future, he is playing the part of a top pairing D very well so far. He has had a rookie mistake or two but he really has looked great.

The longer this goes the lower the price tag for Winnipeg. 42 days for Chevy to blink first.
Not many teams have the ability to fit Trouba in a cap compliant league. As well, with Trouba out of training camp and no games for a few months, it will take him some time to adjust to his new surroundings, teammates and systems. Meaning it will be difficult for him to step in and make an impact right away. This will make him even more difficult to move especially if Chevy expects a fair return.

Yeah, have fun signing undrafted college players - because it will never happen and prepare to see your drafted college players going full Wheeler on you - because this will happen if you let a high quality young player rot somewhere because he is RFA. Every single player agent will be your enemy.

Did the Jets not just sign NCAA free agent Brandon Tanev out of Providence?
Never happen? It literally just happened.

Trouba to the Bruins would need a young d coming back. No way around it. If the Bruins need to send a cap dump, then something more needs to be added or the quality of the prospect improves. I know fan bases love their prospects but you should focus on the defenseman you would be getting. As much as I hate what Trouba is doing, he would be loved in Boston. I see the fit there.
Trouba is good to go right now. Quick fix. You would also be able to lock him up long term. I don't think his contract demands are going to be unreasonable. This also increases his value from a Jets perspective.
Trouba as a Bruin....

I agree. Bruins would need to send either Zboril or Lauzon + 1st + McQuaid as a cap dump.
