I think the real argument is should Dean have been fired after last season, why was Sutter re-signed, why was Lewis re-signed (guy has zero offensive ability and is rewarded a lot of ice time each game and he's not a shut down defensive forward thus the minus for the career), why was the free agent crop signed? If you add up the money given to Lewis and the free agent crop of crap that's a legit #1 LW worth of money. Sutter's brand of hockey has been stale, he should have been sent back to the farm after last season. The Kings would be in a much different place right now without Sutter and without the disastrous summer of 16.

I want him fired asap! The players have stopped listening or have tuned him out. It's like they were playing right before Terry Murray got fired.

Also the other day on xm radio, Patrick O'Sullivan said Sutter was in no way a players coach.

Also don't like the way he's handled Kempe. He tried him with Kopitar for a whopping 1 game and already has the kid in the 4th line. Give it some damn time. Are you gonna tell me putting King on the top line is a better option? Sutter needs to go back to managing his Cows.

When your highest paid player, with the ink not yet dry on a ridiculous new contract, does not have double digit goals at this time of the year, you got bigger problems than coaching.

Dean will be gone before Sutter.

I think they'll be gone together.

Last night on the Insider, Jon Rosen said there's no way Sutter gets fired. Pretty obvious answer from him though since he likely wouldn't have clearance to break such news. He also said that it's his belief that Sutter won't coach anywhere else if/when he's let go by the Kings. I'd guess he takes some kind of "special consultant" role with either the Kings or Flames.

firing coaches depends on the circumstance

have you looked at our roster?

what do you think Babcock or Bowman would do that Sutter can't?

Too many players on this roster are either incapable of playing this system (not enough talent), or don't have the heart for it anymore.

Sutter isn't a bad coach. These players are the problem.

Sutter's definitely not a bad coach, but its time for him to move on. Its obvious his message isn't getting thru to the players and we're witnessing that effect right now in the form of **** poor hockey.

I hope to hell he doesn't move up to be GM, he was awful in Calgary.

DL should trade unnecessary fat at TD and call up some kids to see what are they capable of.

This is very correct, unfortunately we can't trade Kopitar or the other underperforming players like Brown or Gaborik. But we can replace a coach, and pray that a new voice and different system invigorates something in these players to play to their abilities.

It's hard to picture Dean pulling the trigger on that. I also don't think AEG will fire DL this year, though he doesn't have immunity. If they do fire Sutter, I hope they look outside of the existing head coach pool and maybe at other assistants or even good minor coaches. I've always sort of hated the fact that coaches get traded and passed around from team to team endlessly. It is always the same pool of coaches. The NHL needs some new blood behind the bench.

Even John Hoven said there's no way Lombardi fires Sutter, simply out of respect for him and some sort of agreement between them. With Lombardi's contract up at the end of the year, it's time to move him out as GM and just let him continue on as President of the team, like what Burke does in Calgary. If there is a power struggle in the org [as been suggested], and someone has AEG's ear more than another, this summer could see some real changes.

Tough to do after winning 2nd cup in three seasons only two years before.

But unless the Kings pull a 180 and make some noise in the playoffs he should be gone after this season, if they miss again there should be zero question.

The Penguins fired Shero and Bylsma five seasons after they won the Cup in 2009.

This'll be the third season after the Kings last won the Cup. The clock is ticking.

I wouldn't fire Sutter, but I wouldn't consider it outlandish if someone felt Sutter or DL should be let go.

The fact is a lot of different people share blame for the Kings current situation. The tough thing is, they're also the ones who got us to the cup.

The bad trades for Lucic and especially Sekera will hurt the team for years. You can say "not all 1st round picks turn out", but that's precisely why you don't give them up that easily because only about 1 in 3 really pan out and it's better to build a core through the draft than FAs. Blame DL for that.

I love Kopi, but he's not really worth his 10 million contract now, and that will probably be even more true a couple years from now, though I really hope I'm wrong. The blame for that contract goes to DL.

Giving Kopi the captains slot doesn't seem to have improved things, if anything it's done the opposite. The way it was handled and became known to Brown definitely wasn't cool. Not sure if DL or Sutter is more to blame for that.

Offense, especially the PP, continue to be subpar. That blame is shoulders by the coaches and most of the team, especially Kopi.

Of course, everyone above who deserves blame screwed up but they've also given us 2 cups. They're also at least trying, for the most part, to find a way to win.

The biggest unnecessary monkey wrench the team has faced falls on that POS Voynov. The problems he's created weren't in an effort to find a way to win like the players/staff above. His were much worse.

Everything pretty much started with his ****ing dumb*** off-ice decisions...
