The last thing the Flyers need is another win-now coach like Tocchet.

What happened to Briere saying they wanted a "teacher" and someone used to working with young players? That's what he said when he fired Torts. That is the opposite of Tocchet.

I think Tocchet stays in Vancouver. They need a positive voice in the room. A guy who will teach instead of punish mistakes. I don’t know who that guy is yet but they can’t keep hiring these dinosaur coaches.

Statistically, Briere will only get this one chance to pick HIS headcoach. I'm confident he will take it seriously and make it work.

I don’t really care about Shaw one way or another besides game 82 challenges. If it’s a head coach without much sway (that’s coming), that’s how he’d stay on.

But it’s a good shtick always keeping the longtime assistant of the guy you fired. Keep doing it. Some people smash watermelons, some people do this. Everyone needs a thing.

I don’t know what thread to put this in, but do you remember when Chris Therien was pissed that Homer laughed at him asking to interview for GM when they hired Chuck? Therien should ask to be interviewed for a coaching spot. He’s got a better chance now with this management team.
