Fire Shaw

Your comments are illogical and are ignorant of basic fact. There is more evidence now that Hutson will be in the top tier of his position than there is for Michkov. Hutson offensively is already in the top tier of his position offensively. You're also conflating situations such as saying that currently Hutson is not Makar or Hughes and then when it comes to Michkov, it will be who he will be as good as in the future. Which is simply conjecture. You have a disease called homerism. It remains to be seen how each player ultimately long term develops. However you have no basis in fact to state that Hutson has not shown himself to be special while Michkov has. As if as a rookie being 2nd overall in your position in assists and in the top 4 in overall scoring in your position in the entire league, not just rookies, isn't a sign of being special.
Oh ffs. Okay Mr. Specificity Hutson WON'T BE Makar. Is that better? That is my point. Has absolutely nothing to do with Homerism. It has to do with how they score, what they do, special moments. True, I have not seen as many of Hutson's games as Michkov's but I've seen enough to see the special moments.
It remains to be seen if Hutson is a rookie flash in the pan or if he will sustain it. Wouldn't be the first D man to have a flashy first year and then struggle in his second as he tries to learn to actually play good D. That's why I made the Ghost comparison. He could turn out to be really good but he could also end up inconsistent and defensively questionable.
I guarantee you that Michkov will be a perennial all star and ten years from now he will have many more appearances than Hutson and more scoring stats too. I will bet my falling stock portfolio on it (probably worth nothing by the end of this presidency anyway so I can't lose)

We would be laughing at other fanbases if they were proclaiming their forwards to be superior as they are getting out produced by a defenseman.

My favorite thing will always be opposing fanbases strolling in to propose trades, while completely shitting on the player they want to drive the pretend value in this pretend internet trade down.

Drysdale has finally come along? He has 20 points in 65 games. He's gone from being seriously bad to being mediocre at best.
I'd say with Drysdale it comes down to talent on the roster. Ofc we wanted to see more production from him but this roster simply needs more high end talent from the center position to get more out of all the other pieces.

You can still watch a player and see the talent he has. The natural ability and hockey sense he has regardless of the talent around him. It's too soon to give up on the player but unfortunately, I see this trade for Drysdale as one that the Flyers are going to come out on the wrong side of.

Unless they pull a top 6 or top 3 Dman out of the Anaheim 2nd, approx 40th, it's a lost trade already.

Walker has left and was good offensively before he did. Drysdale has finally come along. Both are offensive examples.

You are potentially looking at getting 3 1sts or more from Walker, Seeler, and Risto.
Your takes dude are hilarious. They resigned Seeler they have no intention of trading him, and he's definitely not returning a 1st. Fisto magically gets hurt every year near the trade deadline. They aren't trading him otherwise, and again not for a 1st.

If you think they can get 1sts out of these mediocre Dmen, there's a Flyers plane ready to take a signed McDavid to Philadelphia.

I doubt that Denver’s Clarke would take the Flyers job. If he were to leave that school he’d want a better roster and FO to work with than what the Flyers have.
My bet is that they’ll do a college pick and get Pat Ferschweiler. Young innovate guy who fits their stated need for a teacher. Ties to Keith Jones through Western Michigan where he’s built a good competitive program. He’ll need some experienced assistants so perhaps Shaw can be convinced to stay on.

It won't surprise me if the Flyers retain Shaw as their HC for next season. I'd rather see a coach like Shaw become the HC than hiring another hot head like Rick Tocchet.

The last thing the Flyers need is another win-now coach like Tocchet.

What happened to Briere saying they wanted a "teacher" and someone used to working with young players? That's what he said when he fired Torts. That is the opposite of Tocchet.

I just don’t see him fitting the Flyer mold, and they care about that brand more than anything else.

I’m actually starting to think that Keith Jones was one of the worst things to happen to this franchise in recent times. He’s an ass licker of that Flyer family - and will ensure that the country club atmosphere continues.

They needed a Shanahan type desperately.

Frankly, what they need is a Hinkie type; someone who comes in with a plan, the data to back up its validity, and the willingness to be hated by everyone who liked the way things were before.

Just avoid the bit where the commissioner forces us to fire him in favor of a worthless failson because everyone else is mad that we're making them look bad, and we're good to go.

Literally, when all of the prospective candidates that were interviewing for the Flyers POHO position found out that the front office arrangement was going to be a Triumvirate. Where the POHO did not have top authority, nobody wanted the job! They all walked. So they were stuck hiring their TV play by play go with zero experience to take the job. He is just the head cheerleader. Honestly it's a shame because I like Keith JOnes the guy but he is drastically in over his head here.

The sad part is that if the Flyers had actually tanked when they should've, that phase could already be over. Every time they avoid doing what needs to be done and keep trying to win now, it's just delays the inevitable.
