I mean Drury has twice as many goals as Rantanen since the trade.It would be crazy if Rantanen struggled a bunch down the stretch here for the Canes, to the point where his best offers in the summer end up being in the same range the Avs were offering him before anyway.... And then he actually ended up coming back here for like $11.5M while we get Necas and Drury for free

Parssinen is not a top 6 forward, Mitts is another RyJo experiment gone wrong. Drouin is the only top 6 guy on that 2nd line. CMac needs to fix this ASAP

Parssinen has 1 more game tomorrow before he’s a healthy scratch coming out of the Four Nations. Nuke will be in his spot.
Bednar doesn’t think Parssinen is a serious player.
I have no idea why CMac gave up an asset for a player Bednar thinks is a joke and not a legit candidate for minutes in a contending season.
This is one thing that drives me nuts about Bednar. Parssinen hasn’t been terrible imo. He certainly hasn’t been a world beater, but it’s just weird how once he doesn’t like you, you might as well ask to get sent down.

Barring a Kadri trade, I don't see a realistic option to flip him. It's not like we have the C depth to spare at the moment and there's not a ton of options out there.
More likely we try to find a guy to push him down the lineup. Unless CMac just clears his cap or can pull a rabbit out of his hat and grab someone like JEE

God i hate nhl coaching because i can say fire bednar until the roof collapses but the next idiot they bring in is also going to have insane, completely irrational biases we all hate, as well.
But at least bennett wouldn't be our PP coach

2nd line blew, not that I needed to dig up stats to tell you that.
Only (2) shot attempts, (4) scoring chances against (things would obviously look better if the off-side goal counted). By comparison, the Kelly line got out-corsi'd, but had (5) scoring chances for and only (1) against. And the 3rd line was really good, a welcome change from their usual crappiness.

We missed a huge opportunity not bringing in Alex Tanguay to run the powerplay.
He’s doing wonders with Detroit.
Wings have the #3 PP in the NHL and Tanguay has full control of what they do with the man advantage.

I agree. But Necas brings way more to the table than Mikko. I know posts don't count, but if it were 1 inch the other way, Necas would have 7-8 goals in his Avs tenure already.
