I think miner is in the lineup, but I don’t think it matters. Bednar has shown he will ride the starter in b2b games this season anyhow.

Love EJ but they should've been more brutal about that. The franchise was more than gracious to him, and he had earned THAT for sure, but bottom line they should not have been towing around a third-pairing defenseman making $6 million when they had holes in the lineup. He got his name on the Cup, I don't think the Avs owed him anything above and beyond past that.

Now, I'm not recommending they had done what the Rangers did with Goodrow and Trouba, but maybe see if he was amenable (though push the issue a little harder than they did), and if not, just buy him out. Yes, that would carry a cap hit but it would've likely allowed them enough room to pursue Kadri or another center.
